This is the first time since 1997 where we have seen stage winners in the three main jerseys (yellow, green and polka dot). That's a pretty surprising fact for me.
I don't want to be the guy responsible for making sure that every single rider starts at the right place. It shouldn't be much of a problem with the first group but when.
But indeed, it shouldn't make too much difference .
It's just a show, especially as they're trapping the riders in a warmup area for the last half hour meaning that they can't really warm up the way they use to.
It was my reason, but seeing that it won't be until november, I agree that we might as well start now.
I could do it within the next couple of days but don't mind if you or anyone else do so.
Martin Toft Madsen is next in line to go for the hour record. He set a new Danish record in january at 52,324km but has been working towards the world record. He states that just his improvements in the aerodynamics are enough for about a km. Other than that he should be in better shape than in january as well as riding in thinner air on a fast track in Mexico.
I must say that I doubt that he'll make it, but he may very well end up as no. 2 on the rankings and could end up withing a km of Wiggins.
You can follow the last days up to the attempt, including a lot of work, cleaning the velodrome that is quite dusty at the moment on his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Tofthour/
You're right. I was too quick. Social democracy and democratic socialism are indeed two different ideologies where democratic socialism is more left wing and often pretty anti-capitalist.
Several of the supporters in other countries (like Bernie Sanders) mention us as democratic socialists, even though the parties that are identified as democratic socialists (in Finland's case Vasemmistoliitto) are mainly very secondary parties who are rarely in government.
I do enjoy watching pretty much all sports (synchronized swimming, dressage, rhythmic gymnastics, baseball and softball aren't really my cup of tea but other than that), but most "real fans" still have to prioritize. We simply don't have time to follow every sport as closely (If you do, you must have found some extra hours in the day).
And it ended up with Cathrine Dufour (Atterupgaards Cassidy), Daniel Bachmann Andersen (Blue Hors Zack), Anders Dahl (Selten HW) and Betina Jæger Jensen (Mane Stream Belstaff)
Tough one. Ended up with road cycling, mountain bike, athletics, triathlon and handball.
Badminton, track cycling and football are the main competitors with rowing, canoe sprint, swimming, sailing and fencing a bit after.
I've already asked a friend to send some rain from Massachusetts. Sadly it hasn't arrived here in Denmark. All over the country it's forbidden to light fire. That had never happened before this year and now it has been so for about a month (some areas had a few rainy days giving some few days where it was allowed, but no longer)
