  1. Though plastic in the ocean is a huge problem, I doubt those pictures are from there. It's mainly tiny fragments (which really makes it worse)
  2. Never seen those photos before. One of the places where we can get a lot better in Denmark. Having cleaned up after the annual boat race in Aarhus 6 times, I know what I talk about. (and that's after the first few hours) Several festivals aren't much better.
  3. You can still be a great politician and a decent human being. Sure, sometimes you may need to put the good aside, but if it's all about greed for power, something's gone seriously wrong!
  4. Truly one of the best tours that I remember!
  5. I believe that some French media doubted his credibility as well back then. That was kind of the point
  6. Had Pinot and Alaphilippe not been French the French media would be all about doping accusations...
  7. Just one of the most amazing songs from one of the most popular musicals of all time (except for Memory, it really isn't one of my favourites). The cast feels... uhm... Interesting
  8. Sorry about that. Wasn't able to follow the Giro that much due to campaigning
  9. Well. From what I understand, some people feel that it'll be the attention needed to stop that comparison in the future.
  10. I know that you were joking (though I'm sure that plenty of Slovaks who would be dead serious about such comments). It just feels like all your comments (with exception of the Tour) is about him. It's always a way to see if Sagan is winning
  11. That's what you get from being a cycling power house. We care in the smaller nations!
  12. Yup. They are Social Democrats. Not that I support the idea, I feel that it would take too much attention, but I actually get the idea of using it to show that Germany has moved on. Way too often the slightest bit of national pride (I even remember articles during the 2006 Worlds) is compared to the past. I would love to give Germany a chance to be proud of themselves and the history of the country (with exceptions, of course) without being compared to the dark past of the country.
  13. Thomas Härtel and Andreas Geisel aren't really from a far-right party.
  14. For Slovakia possibly, but being the kind of person who hates when a single athlete seems to get all the attention, I wouldn't mind, though I admit that he's rather entertaining.
  15. We do, considering the number of Danes at the Worlds and Olympics. And Fuglsang's ranking has gotten som attention as well.
  16. I'm beginning to wonder. Will we ever see @hckosice in the cycling comments again the day that Sagan retires?
  17. I don't really get why Wurtz or Gallopin didn't get it...
  18. I can do with czech lager, but I prefer something stronger and nothing beats a good triple! Not yet, though that would put me closer than any sport
  19. Trappiste beers > Belgian beers >>>>>>>>>> All others. You're welcome
  20. Though I do see myself as a traditionalist, I do really feel rather sad reading some of the comments here. It feels elitist (can't believe I'm actually using the word that I'm usually fighting against) I do agree that the IOC are making some bad decisions. Breaking is terrible and I would prefer not having surfing or skating (at least not yetconsidering the governing situation). But destroying the sport? In the very worst case it could be the start, but really? There are still plenty of sports for us to watch. I'm not gonna watch a second of surfing and the only skating will be Rune Glifbjerg's runs (if he qualifies) and it will be the same with breaking in 2024. And yes, those quotas could have been filled by other sports or events, and I would absolutely have prefered that. But come on. Show at least a little bit of respect. It's not like these sports come from nowhere. Somebody wants them in the Games, and that's not just people in the IOC. Some have been fighting for it for some time. And BTW, I see plenty of skaters. It's not even that long since I could see some on the main pedestrian street in Aarhus having some fun, just as I know of a few fine places for skating in Denmark. And gender equality. That's the way things are going and the IOC shouldn't really be blamed for several federations sleeping. Once again, I would prefer another approach than what taken by the IOC, but I support the idea. Quota limits and saving money? Seriously, have you seen how bids die one by one? I would love to see the Olympics with way more events, but that would NOT be reasonable!
