  1. yes, Eurosport Player is the place to go this year (and in 2022 and 2024)... to be honest, it's so cheap that I don't think it would be a problem for anybody in the whole European Continent... I don't know how much it is in your Country, but if you can have it for 7.99€ for 1 month (or 50€ for a full year) here in Italy, I guess it's even cheaper by you... about vpn, I only recommend Express VPN or Nord VPN...they're not so cheap, but they're by far the top 2 around, the only ones that have enough Nations and enough speed to allow all the streams to go to their best resolution and bitrate... if you only need US servers, Windscribe is also good...and they have 10 GB of available data also on the free version (you only need to sign up)... they also have a nice android tv app to be used directly on your TV (if you have an android TV)...
  2. if this means corruption, covering doping scandals and money stealing...well, there's no need to answer to that...obviously they have to be thrown out (and for a very long period, until at least every single person involved in the previous crimes is still trolling around the sport in any role in any Country, even if only at local level)... if this means "only" some kind of internal fights for the leading positions, they should be fixed, maybe even some kind of punishment might be given, but I don't think a full ban from the Games would be required (unless things get worse and worse after the first warning)... so, I just picked the 3rd option (I don't know) because of this dilemma...
  3. how to waste a big medal chance... with those 2 paired, if something could go wrong, surely it will go worse... I hope to be wrong, but I don't think it's a savior idea to put their personal problems into the Olympic squad by forcing them to make a team...
  4. more something like "let's get quick with her gender examination"... I wouldn't be surprised at all if she's a new case of the Semenya & co. saga... for sure, there's nothing to trust when you see something like that...
  5. finally! after a nightmerish period (quite a long one), Silvana Stanco is back to her best shape... and Mauro De Filippis in the end won a world cup event... so, all this means that maybe our mixed trap team might finally work also without Jessica Rossi, who notoriously doesn't want to shoot together with her former husband De Filippis anymore... it took quite a while, but there's a chance that we paced everything well to be at our best just when it really matters ('cause Rio 2016 will be very difficult to match)...
  6. 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Mixed Team Event Gold: Germany #2 Silver: Russia #1 Bronze: Germany #1 women's Trap Gold: Silvana Stanco Silver: Jessica Rossi Bronze: Jana Spotakova men's Trap Gold: Mauro De Filippis Silver: Ioannis Chatzitsakiroglu Bronze: Giovanni Cernogoraz
  7. considering that also Di Marco threw almost 65m, I guess there were more than helpful conditions... I hope it was only the wind and not any other "trick"...
  8. men's 100m: Bromell Simbine Kerley women's 100m: Fraser-Price Richardson Thompson men's Javelin: Vetter Krukowski Walcott women's Javelin: Lyu Hussong Mitchell men's Triple Jump: Zango Pichardo Claye women's Triple Jump: Rojas Ricketts Williams side poll: Tamberi (men's High Jump) and Palmisano (women's 20km Race Walk) are the only true medal chances for Italy... then, if at least a couple of the top 5 favourite in the men's 100m fail, maybe even Jacobs (men's 100m) and Giorgi (women's 20km Race Walk) could have an outside chance to make the podium... the rest of our specialists are lucky if they can get in the bottom ranks of some final or get close to the final (and many are just "cosmetic")...
  9. men: women: hopefully in this same order...I mean...no Korean gold...I know...I'm a dreamer...
  10. men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Gold: Jean Quiquampoix Silver: Christian Reitz Bronze: OIiver Geis 50m 3-Position Rifle women's Team Event Gold: Russia Silver: Austria Bronze: Ukraine 50m 3-Position Rifle Mixed Team Event Gold: Poland Silver: Croatia #1 Bronze: Belarus
  11. game pretty much in control for the Lightning... not a great game, though...both teams looked to be quite nervous and there were too many provocative fouls and retalliations, especially when the score was clearly in favour of the home team... MTL loses once again game #1 of a playoff series and also saw their power play successful streak coming to an end... definitely not a good night for them... I hope to see some better hockey in game #2...
  12. Lorenzo Benati (likely in the men's 4*400m relay, athletics)...
  13. Larissa Iapichino will miss the Olympics because of an injury to her jumping foot... sorry, but I only found this in Italian... https://www.oasport.it/2021/06/atletica-larissa-iapichino-fuori-dalle-olimpiadi-infortunio-al-piede-di-stacco-addio-tokyo/?refresh_ce
  14. no, age limits have to be respected strictly in European Champs...
  15. yeah, as they already confirmed... p.s. in my post I wrote 25m, but it should have been 10m...just like it was until 2004... and yeah, it was quite an entertaining event among the shooting competitions...
  16. Italy Men Gerhard Kerschbaumer Nadir Colledani Luca Braidot Women Eva Lechner
  17. Italy Men Elia Viviani Filippo Ganna Simone Consonni Francesco Lamon Jonathan Milan Possible reserve: Michele Scartezzini or Liam Bertazzo Women Martina Alzini Elisa Balsamo Rachele Barbieri Vittoria Guazzini Martina Fidanza Letizia Paternoster
  18. Italy Men Vincenzo Nibali (Road Race) Alberto Bettiol (Road Race & Time Trial) Giulio Ciccone (Road Race) Damiano Caruso (Road Race) Gianni Moscon (Road Race) Filippo Ganna (Time Trial) Women Elisa Longo Borghini (Road Race & Time Trial) Soraya Paladin (Road Race) then, 2 out of those 3: - Marta Cavalli (Road Race) - Marta Bastianelli (Road Race) - Tatiana Guderzo (Road Race)
  19. 8 teams, 2 groups of 4, group winners to gold medal match (& runner-ups to the Bronze medal match)... starting on day -2 (like football) and playing every 6 days, you get to the GMG on the last day of the Games... given that the British teams can't play as separate Nations, 8 squads (GBR, IRL, FRA, AUS, NZL, RSA, ARG, JPN) are basically all those who have a chance in the sport (and cover all the continents)...no big names would be left out... I think it's not impossible (but IRB would never accept such format, as Cricket would never show any interest in the Games until the current powerhouses rule the sport)...
  20. women's 25m Pistol Gold: Rahi Sarnobat Silver: Mathilde Lamolle Bronze: Vitalina Batsarashkina women's 50m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Yulia Karimova Silver: Yulia Zikova Bronze: Nina Christen men's 50m 3-Position Rifle Team Event Gold: Russia Silver: France Bronze: Czech Republic
  21. Senegal won't play the OQT in Belgrade... they won't be replaced...
  22. 3 is just too few... my list is way bigger... OUT: Artistic Swimming, Trampoline & Rhythmic Gymnastics, Equestrian Dressage, Boxing, Weightlifting (only because of doping issues), 3X3 Basketball, Skateboarding, BMX Cycling (at least the freestyle events)... IN: Squash, T20 Cricket, Water Ski (Slalom & Jumping only) & Wakeboard (Tricks only)...and the remaining quota places to increase the traditional sports, which have been cut so much to become a farce with no more than 6/7 starters...
  23. obviously I'd make a lot more changes, but just to play: a) Shooting: out Mixed Team Trap replaced by M + W Individual Double Trap & out Mixed Team Air Rifle & Pistol events replaced by men's 50m Free Pistol and men's 25m Running Target Rifle (as it was until a few years ago) b) Swimming: Pool: out Mixed Medley Relay, in M + W 50m Fly, Back and Breast; Open Water, in 25km M + W. I know that’s against the rules but I don’t care. c) Cycling: Out Road Time Trial replaced by Track Individual Pursuit & out Track Omnium replaced by standalone Points Race (and Elimination Race, but this is also against the rules) d) Karate: out M + W Kata, in the 4 missing weight classes (2 M + 2 W) in Kumite. I know that’s against the rules but I don’t care. e) Sport Climbing: replace combined event with speed, lead and bouldering events. I know that’s against the rules but I don’t care. f) Flatwater Canoeing: complete change of philosophy...no more races over different distance, but all races (11: M K1, K2, K4, C1, C2, C4; W K1, K2, K4, C1, C2) on a single "olympic distance" (which should be 1000m). I know that’s against the rules but I don’t care. sorry for going completely out of the rules, but this is the bare minum of changes I'd like to see (together with complete removal of at least Artistic Swimming, Trampoline and Rhythmic Gymnastics, Dressage, Boxing -only because of corruption- and Weightlifting -only because of doping issues)...
  24. Men's 3000m Steeplechase Ala Zoghlami - 8.17.65 (joins, among others, his brother Osama, who earned his spot a few days ago at the Golden Gala DL meet)... https://worldathletics.org/athletes/italy/ala-zoghlami-14488117
