The problem is not the time or the place, it's the f'n calendar being crammed to 200%. It's unbelievable how all the leagues are still going one week before the start of the WC. There is just no break for the fans to get excited... And everything was enhanced in the last months so they can get as many matches in and not "disrupt" the leagues. They should have ended them last week at least to have a 2 week break before the start, but no.. There are just to many matches and the special ones are getting less and less.

2003 Interlagos GP is one of the best F1 races i have watched. Too bad such a race will never happen in modern times.

Without Italy i have a hard time finding a team to root for... Will cheer for the smaller teams and probably Spain from the bigger ones.

Not the roaring victory the Republicans expected, but still an improvement. They will take the House and the Senate will be decided by the Georgia run-off, if it will be 50-50 again or 51-49 Rep. Given the usual results in these run-offs it will most like be a Dem win for a 50-50 tie. The Senate race is going to be a big disappointment for the Rep., as polls were expecting a good lead of 52-48, or even 53-47. By the way, i was wondering, while watching last night, how do they re-draw the borders of the districts after the new Census came in? At CNN they would often mention "Well District X has now incorporated this county, or this part, and is now leaning more Dem/Rep", which brought up my interest how exactly do they decide these restructures of district borders? Is there a formula that is being followed? Maybe @Olympian1010 can give some inside answers.

A few notes from me. I'm usually not the guy who votes for the mainstream acts, but had to make an exception this time. Like mentioned above, Helene Fischer is one artist that i enjoy, so it was a nice surprise to see her in the contest. The US is the next one that benefited greatly, since Battlefield is probably the one song from Jordin Sparks i like and it goes way back. I haven't voted for them in some of their previous popular attempts but couldn't resist this time. But still waiting for some juggernaut song from the past to appear. And Greece fits this role to a degree as well. For many it's probably not a well known song, but believe me, here it is still frequently rotated on the radio. I'm surprised, that Spain and Italy are doing well, given that they are older songs (especially Spain, who are doing amazing). There are so many better Gianni Morandi songs, this one didn't click with me at all unlike Spain. Croatia and France are just very good song, that i like instantly, so it was a no-brainer, that they would get high scores.
