  1. There is already a case of Laurel Hubbard who won an unusual New Zealand weightlifting medal at 2017 WCh.
  2. Merry Christmas. I find it highly unusual that more Northerly Europe is so warm, while here it's 3 degrees (right by the sea). Wintery! Here's our big Christmas tree.
  3. Do you know what are the British criterias for bobsleigh?
  4. Interesting, we are the first reserve in women's luge (surprise, surprise). Technically we're 2nd reserve, but Norway surely won't accept their place. Now it will be interesting to see if Russia keeps all of their places after Ivanova's disqualifiction... I doubt they'll lose anything, but one can hope.
  5. I wouldn't know about that. Maybe @ahjfcshfghb knows more? But then again, I wouldn't really use Vanessa-Mae as a role model when it comes to the Olympic qualifiction. He needs one more result of 419 or better to put AVG under 300. Effectively that meant he needed to be about 4-5 minutes faster today...
  6. Slight improvement, but still far away from qualification for Project Bogota. Tawk was also disappointingly bad (over 400, while in Western Europe he managed <400). At least Human (yes, that's his name) scored 200 FIS points. He should qualify after the next race. At this point I doubt Pita/Uprimny/Madrazo could qualify at any non-Bogota race. They needed almost an hour for 15km. Maybe some chance for Madrazo in a classic race, as he is better there than in freestyle (very unusual for exotic nation skier).
  7. It's like Nicaragua has an unlimited subscription to women's weightlifting wild cards.
  8. I swear IOC is trying so hard to make Olympics look bad. And succeeding (at least for me)...
  9. https://data.fis-ski.com/dynamic/results.html?sector=CC&raceid=30805
  10. Big FIS points for all of them today. :/ I imagine freestyle will suit them better (at least to everyone except Madrazo).
  11. Something's wrong with these results... If this was a real winning time then Taufatofua's 19th place would give him 53640.58 FIS points.
  12. Vidović slots into last place. And yet last week he won two European Cup slaloms, against many of the racers that are currently in top 30. But that means nothing apparently.
  13. That's right. In other news, the Illuminati Cat was confirmed.
  14. And Olympic qualification. It's feasible that Laukkanen might be a part of the Finnish team sprint relay, so she'll need two more sprints to qualify.
  15. Arabella Caroline Yili Ng has assured her qualification, adding Hong Kong to the list of participants. She will also be their first ever winter athlete competing outside of short track.
  16. It's the TISC dedicated news site, obviously. First article named "To Infinity And Beyond" pretty much explains everything.
  17. Sindo's snowflakes are getting highly contagious.
  18. There is one weekend of racing, just before the deadline (19-21 January). There also some Turkish and Iranian races so I guess they should have enough opportunities. I though there were two Lebanese weekends actually, but turns out the first one only has children categories.
  19. Hopefully they'll all go to Lebanon, as that should be their best chance. It looks like those Lebanese alpine and XC races will be like some Winter Games for the super exotic nations.
  20. Welp, I secretly hoped that we would beat the system this time, as 31st qualifies. Oh well.
  21. Or maybe they don't want random people winning the first round. Two runs give more security to the favorites.
  22. Popović had a giant slalom run of her life, but ended with a DNF...
  23. Yes, WC ranking combines WC and Nations Cup.
