MHSN got a reaction from Dolby in Wrestling UWW Cadet World Championships 2019
2nd day finals
45kg: Mc Gowan vs Arab
51kg: Khaniev vs Akhmajanov
60kg: Elahi vs Abdulaev
71kg: Biro vs Tigiev
92kg: Karimov vs Yousefi
---------------------------------------------
medalists 2nd day
48kg: 1) Amouzad, 2) Kadamov, 3) Nishiuchi & Udit
55kg: 1) Jalolov, 2) Veisi, 3) Suganuma & Aman
65kg: 1) Gadzhiev, 2) Tskhovrebov, 3) Kera & Goswami
80kg: 1) Firouzpour, 2) Bagaev, 3) Magamadov & Sahaliuk
110kg: 1) Zasseev, 2) Chikhradze, 3) Misirci & Anirudh
bittersweet day for Iran, Firouzpour winning 80kg gold was the best moment of the day, but then Veisi lost the gold in a last second dubious challenge. Habibi lost the bronze to the same guy he beat easily 10-0 few weeks ago in Asia was unbelievable. at the end of the day India ended up winning more medals than anybody else !
and the race for the team title will continue tomorrow. Iran has a small lead after the first medal day but Russia will have 4 in the final tomorrow. but their other wrestler is eliminated while 2 other Iranians still can wrestle for the bronze. even though Valipour only has to pray for Sweden to beat Israel in repechage. even though he deserves nothing after losing to Romania like that. he had a dream draw but blew it.

I watched lots of matches today. so if you ask me you will win something like 2 bronze medals tomorrow, 55kg and maybe 48 or 65. I don't think there is a chance for your heavier wrestlers, maybe very slim chance for 85.
the 48kg was almost in the final but lost it in the last seconds (there were some dubious calls in the match though) and repechage won't be easier for him because of Azerbaijan. I was expecting gold for your 55kg after beating Russia. but well that Uzbek kid was too good. (he is YOG gold medalist)

I would prefer if you lost the one against Russia though.

I can confirm...last season in both the 1st and 2nd division of the Italian women's volleyball championship there wasn't a single female coach...
and Monica Cresta is currently also the only female coaches in all the National teams, both male and female, senior or youth classes...

MHSN got a reaction from thiago_simoes in Countries you tend to cheer for that you don’t live in
not sure where you read that but that's 100% wrong. the judicial system in Iran is terrible for other reasons but if they want to "kill" someone for homosexuality they don't need excuse, there is death penalty for that but they just don't want to use it, they were told to simply ignore that. even if you go to the court and insist you are gay, they will say he is crazy, let him go. they mostly consider homosexuality as "illness" not crime.
sometimes it's amazing for me how people have a completely wrong image about my country. because of that sometimes it's hard for Iranian sport federations to hire foreign coaches, of course all of them changed their mind after coming to Iran.
btw I'm not defending anything, I hate so many things about the current regime in Iran, just explaining the situation.

MHSN got a reaction from phelps in Karate AKF Asian Championships 2019
Gold medalists
Men's
55kg: Andrey Aktauov
60kg: Sadriddin Saymatov
67kg: Hiroto Shinohara
75kg: Ken Nishimura
84kg: Zabihollah Poursheib
+84kg: Tareg Hamedi
Kata: Ryo Kiyuna
Team Kata: Japan
Women's
50kg: Bakhriniso Babaeva
55kg: Taravat Khaksar
61kg: Yin Xiaoyan
68kg: Nodira Djumaniyazova
+68kg: Hamideh Abbasali
Kata: Kiyou Shimizu
Team Kata: Japan
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
with only team kumite events left for tomorrow, Japan has 6 gold medals. for Iran it's 3 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze. while this is not really a good result but in term of Olympic qualification I'm almost happy with them. Abbasali won the gold and she needed this more than anybody else. Khaksar also put herself in race for Olympic quota with gold medal here. even though I think at the end we have realistic chance for 3 direct quotas but right now the chance still exists for women's 55 and 61, it's funny the only weight we have absolutely no chance to qualify is men's 67kg !
both Ganjzadeh and Askari managed to win bronze. very bad result for high quality athletes like them but I think they are exhausted with too many competitions in a short period. i think it's time to rest at least for some Serie A events. they can afford not to participate in couple competitions

AKF uses a different program comparing to WKF, we have all the finalists for kumite events today, all finals and kata events will be held tomorrow. also only in Asia we have a 55kg competition for men !
here is the finalists
Men's
55kg: Andrey Aktauov vs Abdullah Al-Harbi
60kg: Rafael Akbarov vs Sadriddin Saymatov
67kg: Hiroto Shinohara vs Didar Amirali
75kg: Abdulaziz Al-Hakami vs Ken Nishimura
84kg: Zabihollah Poursheib vs Mahmoud Sajan
+84kg: Tareg Hamedi vs Hideyoshi Kagawa
Women's
50kg: Miho Miyahara vs Bakhriniso Babaeva
55kg: Taravat Khaksar vs Sevinch Rakhimova
61kg: Yin Xiaoyan vs Rozita Alipour
68kg: Ceyco Georgia Zefanya vs Nodira Djumaniyazova
+68kg: Sofya Berultseva vs Hamideh Abbasali
---------------------------------------------
terrible terrible tournament for the men's team ! Ganjzadeh lost to that Saudi guy again ! Askari lost to Nishimura, the good news is they are almost safe in Olympic ranking. but this is extremely disappointing. this is the second time Sajjad is losing to this guy. Saudi Arabia has 3 in the final and we have just 1 !
on other hand great result for the women's team to have 3 in the final. specially Abbasali needs the gold medal to keep herself in top 4. interestingly all of the Iranians here lost to eventual finalists, all of them will be alive for the bronze medal. (except 67kg where we had no competitor because of Mehdizadeh's suspension)

MHSN got a reaction from thepharoah in Men's Volleyball FIVB Under 21 World Championship 2019
of course on purpose, they showed every single match except Iran. for example China - PUR is live now.
I was expecting much more, but Iran lost 3-2 to Russia, so tomorrow match vs Czech Republic will be a direct knockout match. disappointing because Iran had big leads in all first 4 sets and but lost two of them. but it's hard to judge when you can't see the match. but half of these guys were in our senior team this summer I was expecting more.

MHSN got a reaction from thepharoah in Men's Volleyball FIVB Under 21 World Championship 2019
you mean here ? but you are in Group B. I assume there is TV coverage only for matches in the main stadium which for the first round only hosts matches from Group A and C. I might be wrong though
the only thing i can do right now is checking the scoreboard and Iran just choked big time in 2nd set

MHSN got a reaction from thepharoah in Men's Volleyball FIVB Under 21 World Championship 2019
I have this channel on satellite , yesterday they broadcasted all matches in the main stadium (Pool A and C are in the main stadium), except the first match between Iran and Tunisia, (at first I thought that was only because of the time since it was the first match of the day) today they showed the first match (CZE-TUN) but then again right now they are showing some stupid things while Iran-Russia match is ongoing (which is supposed to be a big match) co-incidence ?
I wonder what they are going to do if Iran advances to further rounds

as far as I know, the only Continental Events approved as Olympic Qualifier are the European Games and the Pan-American Games (at least, those are the only 2 named in the official qualification document on the WKF website)...
therefore, for Asia, Africa and Oceania the following statement should be considered:
"If Continental Games are not approved as a qualification event on a specific continent, then the highest ranked athlete not yet qualified from the Olympic Standing on 6 April 2020 from that specific continent, will obtain the quota place, respecting the maximum quota per NOC."
so, this event should give points for the OQR, but shouldn't be among those events giving up direct quota (which will be reallocated to the OQR, also to choose the best male and female for the Continental Quota)...
basically, it's quite a mess...they could (and should) definitely have made it a lot simpler, imho...

MHSN got a reaction from Майкл in Men's Volleyball FIVB Under 21 World Championship 2019
I never heard about this , Bahrain's main football stadium is also in Riffa and our players never had such problems. if there was mistreatment we would hear about this. and this is the 3rd time in 2 years for this group of players to play in Bahrain. Bahrain also hosted 2017 Worlds U19 and 2018 Asian U20 !! they never had problems (and actually won both tournaments)
Bahrain was a state of Iran not long time ago, the majority of people there are kind to Iranians (actually most people there have Iranian heritage) but they make it hostile situation sometimes. mostly for football matches (and again we got Bahrain for FIFA WCQ in yesterday draw)

YES first ever World Championship medal for Iran in fencing. one of the sports I always loved to watch and few years ago it was impossible to think Iran can win a WCH medal someday.
well done Moji
we are lucky he changed his mind because he retired last year after the Asian Games. only his coach talked him to change his mind.

yeah I know but the word Persia is confusing, as it confused some of you guys here already
Persia/Persian is the name for the country, the race and the language !!! but ironically the word "Persian" is not Persian . it's English and it probably comes from "Parsi" which is the old version of Farsi. we call the language "Farsi" and the race as just "Fars" and as I said the name Persia for the country is a bit problematic. other races here don't prefer to use that word for the whole country. for example when they picked the slogan "Princes of Persia" for our football NT for one of the World Cups (2014 if I'm not wrong), some people here didn't like it AT ALL.
PS: by using an example from previous World Cups I just tried to make it a bit on-topic

Thx for the explanation
Yeah, we were called "Lachs" or "Lachy" by the East Slavics, Turks & other Middle East people since like forever But I was unware this still exists in Iran or maybe other Arabic countries. It comes from this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lendians
Most of the countries use the modern name versions of Poland or Polonia now. In Europe I'm fairly sure Lithuania & Hungary still use the "Lachs" version (Lengyel in Hungarian means Polish) but Hungary still uses the vintage version Magyarorszag as country name so it makes sense

Farsi = Persian . this is amazing people don't know that. Farsi is the Persian word for "Persian" in Iran ! we don't use the word Persian or Persia in Iran, in Kabul they call it something else but it's exactly the same. there are other languages in Afghanistan too. same as Iran, half of Iran population speak a second language (Turkish/Azeri, Arabic, Kurdish, Turkmen, etc)
of course there are small differences, some common words in Iran are different in Afghanistan. (and Tajikistan, they also speak Persian)
