  1. no punches are counted by the refs. because the whole punch idea is different that kicking. any kind of kick to the body is valid for a point but punch should be straight from a specific distance and to the chest. Lee Dae-hoon's punches never landed clearly on Bakhshi. but whenever he threw his punch they gave him a point.
  2. Lee Dae-hoon is a great fighter he never lost to Iranians but today he was saved by some phantom punch points when he was down by 4. punch should be clear and straight and from exact distance to be scored. none of his punch points were valid. but after all great day for youngster Bakhshi, he beat two World and Olympics medalists before losing to Lee in the final. end of the taekwondo competition with 7 medals (4 in men's kyorugi) not a great result but at least better than my not-so-optimistic prediction
  3. Yes I wrote about that in next posts you probably didn't read yet. she was told to go for lunch and when she found out the truth that was too late and she came 30 seconds late for the competition.
  4. this Nemati story completely overshadowed everything here, and made all the headlines. it's not like we missed a medal chance but losing like this is unbelievable and as I said Nemati is somehow famous here. sometimes I think a bunch of random guys from the streets can handle these things better than these stupid officials.
  5. update on Nemati's situation. that wasn't organizers fault but Iranian stupid officials fault ! after Round of 32 match they told her to go for lunch since her next match will be in 2 hours ! and when she was leaving the area another Iranian archer came and told her to come back which was late because she couldn't get into the place in time on a wheelchair.
  6. looks like the south korean guy lost half of his 2 minutes lead. (if I read the graphics correctly)
  7. I think South Korean guy will win the gold most probably. terrible strategy for the Iranian team. their strategy is simply doing nothing and sitting behind the Kazakhs !
  8. Ganjkhanloo from Iran plus guys from Uzbekistan and Hong Kong. but they are not trying to catch the Korean guy.
  9. They will always find a way to blame the organizers, I'm sure I will hear about the reason very soon. Nemati because of her life story is somehow famous in Iran and news about her is somehow considered as important.
  10. obviously you don't get injured in Archery. so how come someone can win a match but then 5 minutes later withdraw from the next round ! I'm waiting for Iranian officials claiming she got robbed of a medal by Indonesia (and they won't mention Korea=elimination was next for her )
  11. I wonder what the hell happened here ?! https://en.asiangames2018.id/sport/archery/event/archery-women-recurve-individual/match/arw080407/?v=ARW080407-Finished https://info.ianseo.net/Finals/brackets.php?type=0&Event=RW Zahra Nemati considered as loser but no more explanation ! I wonder if it has something to do with her being on a wheelchair.
  12. oh well, in previous Asian Games we never had coverage for events like this. so this is new
  13. there is no qualification/final system for non-olympic events. just one competition and always without TV coverage.
  14. looks like there will be no gold for Iran in Rowing. we got a silver and a bronze today and our best chance finished with silver behind Vietnam still have two slim chances for the gold tomorrow. today was also better in Taekwondo. both of them made it to the semifinal. at least our women's team won't go home empty handed.
  15. The Iranian commentator was talking about that even halfway in to the next fight I agree with you but to be honest I was also surprised when they gave the second round to Ahangarian in the previous final. so maybe they just wanted to make it even .
  16. Mohammadseifi this is his 3rd back to back Asian Games gold. he is just too good for anybody (even China) .
  17. beating China in wushu is always something very special. I don't think Zafari stands a chance in next final but I expect another gold in the last final
  18. no I just knew their schedule
  19. nope. they just finished all Final B in all events and then go for Finals A which started few minutes ago
  20. is there any link for Rowing finals ?
  21. that's somehow true. not entirely though. it's hard to say when it started but we had Constitutional Revolution half century before that. people was probably just tired of having a "shah" and then that Coup detat (thanks to western countries) which prevented Iran from slowly overthrowing the Shah and makes things worse by encouraging people for a big revolution. but that was a real revolution. at the time 99% of the Iranian population was supporting the revolution . even though most of them could not predict what's going to happen. btw Shah himself was very religious and that was his weakness unlike her father.
  22. Pencak Silat's draw is out. I'm surprised that we have competitors in almost every weights (all but one) ! I don't think we are good in this but who knows, we are usually good in anything including kicking or throwing since East Timor was a part of Indonesia, I thought maybe they are good in this and if they are going to win any medal in the history of the Asian Games. this should be their chance but it seems they have only 3 competitors and all of them facing tough draw.
  23. whoever made this stupid pic never ever read or see anything about Iran. back in 1970 the regime was secular (still a dictatorship) but the majority was religious and while some people would go the beach like that but the strong majority wouldn't but in current Iran while the regime is religious (even though I don't believe they are really religious ,they just use it as a weapon) but the majority (at least in big cities) are not religious. at least not much religious . and nobody nowhere in Iran wear Burqa (or whatever they call it) my points is. the current so-called Islamic regime made Iran much much less Islamic.
  24. from what I heard from Iranian cyclists, the host only let the other teams train (or even see the course) 2 hours before the competition. while apparently (according to Iranian cyclists) the host nation should let cyclists train in the main course 2 days before the competition. I'm no expert in this but I think being host is a huge advantage in MTB downhill.
  25. Sanda isn't really similar to other martial arts here. it's a mixture of punching, kicking and wrestling. of course it takes time to understand the rules. and that's terrible they don't show the score for TV audience. but those in the stadium can see the score from each judge (for winning the round you need 3 judge giving that to you) despite this, I'm not a big fan of Sanda, this is kind of a dangerous sport. I saw bad things happened before.
