and in case you guys are curious what happened in Taekwondo competitions. their whole software for scoring failed and showed some crazy scores. they postponed the whole competition until "further notice" to fix that.

looks like we should have chance for few medals in Paragliding. but we sent only 3 Pilots and they will get 1000pts penalties for each round for not having two more pilots ! even though it's just the 1st round and still a long way to go but Iran could be #1 by a good margin we had 2 more pilots more or less in the same level. now we have 1075 penalty points ! China the first team has 189. I know our NOC had no idea about the level of this sport in Iran so they sent only 3 male pilots but that's VERY stupid because only two of them can register for individual event and the 3rd guy is actually just wasting his time here. because even if they score a perfect zero. Iran can't win a team medal with only 3 pilots ! Iran was supposed to send 2 male and 1 female pilots but they changed it to 3 male pilots to "according to themselves" stand a chance for a team medal !! looks like as usual our stupid officials didn't read the rule clearly. and i still can't understand how come we are sending Tennis players ! one of our girls lost 6-0 6-0 yesterday !! and today another one lost 6-0 6-4 and according to our Tennis federation website "she played good and made her opponent angry during the match" ! OK making someone rank 300 in the world angry ! quite an achievement ! well done !

Looks like Indonesia will win both gold medals in Downhill today in Cycling MTB. I'm no expert in this sport but I think "home court advantage" matters a lot in this sport when you train a lot in the course you have more chance. beside that Downhill is not that developed in Asia. I think Indonesia will challenge China for the first place in medal table. why not.

well Bekzod Abdurakhmonov has the same situation. he is from Boston. so actually 3rd medal since Bekzod won two Asiad golds before him. I don't think this Domenic guy is something special. he won few matches mostly because he was "unknown" and his opponents probably had no clue about him. we will see if he can continue to win medals in Asia or not.

Djungabaev has the same entry

well this is it. not a bad opening day, 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. Yazdani's gold medal was a sure thing but Karimi was a nice surprise. didn't expect him to beat guys much heavier than himself. I'm still mad at Hosseinkhani. this guy should be banned from wrestling forever. same goes to Nassiri. I think Atri also did good (considering his low potential) to win a bronze. 57kg in Asia is always tough.

Yes our wrestling results were not-good until the last match of the afternoon session ! Magomed Ibragimov is not going to retire without tasting the defeat in hands of an Iranian wrestler Karimi despite being 10-12kg lighter took his chance and pinned Ibragimov. so we will have two wrestlers in the final and two in the bronze medal match. what a pity if Hosseinkhani was a bit smarter we could have 3. Atri had no chance against Bekhbayar and Nassiri was just pathetic. 4 or 8 years ago this would considered a bad result but considering our current situation I will be happy with 2 gold medals after today, Finals: 57: vs 65: vs 74: vs 86: vs 97: vs interesting that we will have 9 different countries in the final ! I think India (65), Uzbekistan (74) and Iran (86) will win the gold most probably. but the other two finals will be interesting. I expect Mongolia and Iran to win the other two golds. even though it will be another tough task for Karimi against someone 10kg heavier than him.

so we will have first ever wrestling medal for Lebanon ! but well the guy is Lebanese-American and raised and trained wrestling in USA but still in other hand the Russian guy Batirov failed to win Bahrain's first ever medal in wrestling.

only last night I was talking about Hosseinkhani's history of losing in last seconds and the idiot repeated that once again ! and to the same wrestler ! he is losing exactly the same way for four years. he was the better wrestler as usual but when it comes to the last 30 seconds his brain stops working.

Sandeep Tomar was terrible in his first match so I go with Atri but then Atri sucks himself and he is a big choker. so who knows ...

I'm quite sure Indonesia was expecting much more when they dropped Kyorugi events to add stupid boring Poomsae events into the competition. they will most probably win just a bronze out of 4 possible medal chances. we also secured two medals in Poomsae. both in individual events. I hope for two silver . because Korea is untouchable here. but disappointed with Shooting results. both mixed teams narrowly failed to advance to the final and I never expect anything in Shotgun events. now waiting for my favorite sport Wrestling . I hope for good TV coverage but I'm not that optimistic. at best they will broadcast only "one mat" and we will miss few important matches

I'm doomed to support Iranians. no matter what. if I support that jerk Rostami. then I can cheer for anybody else but Hosseinkhani is a nice guy too. but he is sometimes too nice to his opponents. most of Iranian wrestling fans hate him big time because he is a choker. he lost so many matches in last seconds. it didn't happen just once or twice but so many times ! two of those wrestlers that beat him by a last second takedown are here Abdurakhmanov and Fujinami. this is his latest masterpiece against Fujinami at the 2017 Worlds !

I was checking the schedule , we will have athletes in 10 sports tomorrow. we will win medals in Taekwondo and Wrestling for sure. there are very slim chances in Shooting and Fencing. no chance for gold in Poomsae Taekwondo. because South Korea will swap all 4 gold medals. but in Wrestling. one gold medal is (99%) sure thing but I hope for one more. I can't remember the last time we won a gold medal in 1st day of the competition. usually our favorite sports start in the 2nd week of the Games but this time is a bit different. again no seeding in wrestling. so we have some not balanced draws. but in general I'm OK with our draw in wrestling. 74kg is really terrible. top half is too easy while in bottom half we have Sushil Kumar - Batirov in the first round. and then Ganzorig (remember this guy ? Mongolian coaches stripping in Rio ) and Fujinami. plus our Hosseinkhani and Abdurakhmanov. almost all of these guys are World medalists. at 57 we will have the early final in 1st round, Takahashi (current world champion) vs Kang of North Korea. our Reza Atri will have win-or-die match in 2nd round. he has to beat Sandeep Tomar of India to stand a chance for bronze. because the winner of this match will lose to Erdenebat (MGL) in semifinal. and the match I'm waiting for will be 97kg semifinal between Karimi and the Russian born Uzbek guy Ibragimov. this guy is something like a nightmare for our wrestling he beat whoever we send in past few years. most of his wins were close but he knew how to beat our wrestlers. this time our federation made a 90kg guy to move up weight to challenge this guy. I wonder how Karimi will do against a guy around 10kg heavier than himself ! Ibragimov is 34 ! I don't want him to retire before losing to one of our wrestlers

The official website is not just bad. it's also very late. Iranian sources are reporting start list / draw for different sports while the official websites only published some start list for Shooting and Rowing. and their Rowing start list is also incomplete ! here is for the men's single sculls, they just forgot "Heat 1" ! https://en.asiangames2018.id/sport/rowing/event/rowing-men-single-sculls/ I also think they forgot Heat 2 for Women's Single Sculls. I'm quite sure we entered rowers for both events but none of them are in the list.
