and you can make fun of them when they lose. but I was reading the forum during Panama-ENG match and even during that match someone was complaining about the number of Asian teams ! even Saudi Arabia wasn't that disastrous after the first match.

Congrats for the qualification but seriously out of all those accidents "all of them called against Iran" you picked this one to complain about ? Ronaldo's penalty was 50/50 at best. and there were 2-3 accidents in your box beside that penalty. 1 or 2 them were very suspicious. and above all so many people believe your Ronaldo should get a red card which would end his World Cup. cuz such red cards usually mean 2-3 matches ban. you are very lucky to have him in the next round. and that was a handball. that's the rule. if you raise your hand and touch the ball that's a foul. that was a cheap penalty I know but that's the rule. btw good luck for the rest of the tournament. people like Portugal here because of Queiroz.

Taremi Taremi Taremi Taremi Taremi he broke 80 millions heart tonight by missing that almost one-on-one chance in extra time. as when he missed that header against Spain. either of them could send us to the next round . he was crying like a baby after the match, I just hope fans don't be harsh on him. to me he played great despite missing big big chances in these two matches. and what about the ref ? looks like VAR is only there to help the big teams, there were 3 accidents in Portugal's box and if that Ronaldo's dive was a penalty, then they were penalty as well. but the funniest thing was the extra time. we had 3 VAR review in 2nd half, each one of them wasted at least 3 minutes plus that was a tense game full of fouls and protests. still he gave us only 6+1 minutes ! and Ronaldo was lucky to get away with a yellow after elbowing Pourali-G. even though I believe that was the correct decision but still any other player would get a red card for that. ppffff. so this is it. our players gave their everything in such a tough group. even Morocco was the best African team. to me all of them did their job and they were great. I didn't expect more but damn we were close this time. really close

I have to admit KSA played much better and that was a well-deserved win. they are not that bad as we saw in first match, they are not just fighters , sometimes they just give up easily when they are behind but the Colombian ref also tried his best to help Saudi Arabia. and I'm not just talking about that phantom penalty.

and probably this Colombian referee will be a bit richer tomorrow. or maybe a lot richer. and this is what we always see with Saudi Arabia when they play in Asia. but didn't expect that in a world cup match !

I know but this is different. in that case only two teams were tied and after GD and number of goals. obviously they went for the head to head match but if 3 teams are tied. on points, GD and number of goals. they will remove results against the 4th places teams (Korea in this case) . now Sweden has more number of goals. now between Mexico and Germany the question is will they re-apply the tie breaking criteria once again (starting from criteria 1) or they will just go the next criteria. "fair play"

No Mexico will advance by virtue of beating Germany in head to head match Edit. I might be wrong here. that's the way in sports like basketball. not sure if that applies for FIFA rules or not.

to me that's OK for one or two nights but yeah I got sick badly during the 2008 Olympics. you can't do that for two weeks. I was student at the time and had to wake up VERY early in the morning for the competitions and then had to stay late in the night for doing my things. yeah good old days

You never watched a match after 1 am ? the easiest thing for me to do is not sleeping the whole night when there is something important to watch

That Korean late goal might hurt Mexico at the end. this is still possible to have 3 teams with 6 points in this group. a 2-1 (or 3-2 or more) win for Germany is the worst possible result for Mexico.

wow. that was the best ever chance for a gold. how the hell China managed to beat both Korea and Iran ! the last and only time Iran won a gold medal in Asian Senior Championship was back in 1997 when our current coach Peyman Fakhri won the individual Sabre gold in Tehran since then that was only silver and bronze.

I can't see anybody talking about that. from an Iranian point of view that wasn't an important moment of the match. now everybody cursing the VAR (even though I believe the linesman called that first even before VAR), Azmoun (for just walking the entire 90 minutes) and Taremi for missing some good chances. I just remember the commentator said that Costa should get a yellow for that and Beiranvand should not act like he got hit by a car. unfortunately I have to admit we learnt that from some of our neighbors. specially that WCQ Bahrain match back in 2001. since then time-wasting, gross-rolling became somehow a culture.

Well. that was heart-breaking. really heart-breaking. specially after that equalizing goal celebration. the same as Argentina 2014. that was more sad to let a dirty player like Costa taking credit for that goal which was in fact an own goal thanks to Rezaeian. we should take one of our chances in second half , I’m not saying we played pretty when we were parking the bus but I think we played good after the goal and had enough chance for at least a goal. Taremi should have equalized with his late header. Amiri's dribble (on Piquet) and cross was gold.

Morocco now it's clear we have to beat either Spain or Portugal. even 5pts won't be enough 99% A draw vs Portugal was quite possible but now we have to play for win ... that's something this Iran team is not built for and I don't even think about beating Spain. even though nothing is impossible in football.

as Inter fan I know Cuper very well, you are right about him. the same happened for Iran in last WC when they opened up against Bosnia we conceded 3 ! feel sorry for Egypt , I still hope you take the last match seriously. The first World Cup win matters after all.

A bit disappointed with the results. mostly because Fotouhi and Rahbari lost to non-Korean fencers ! apparently there were some dubious calls in Pakdaman-Gu semifinal which Pak lost 15-13. Iranian officials are very angry about this. our coach Fakhri is also an experienced FIE referee . when he protests he usually has a good reason. in team events I only expect a silver in men's sabre. we used to be good in men's epee but not anymore our NOC was supposed to decide about Fencing quota at the Asian Games based on these results. their initial decision was sending only men's sabre and men's epee.

I don't think so , I just saw something like 200 dives from German players asking for penalty, none of them was even close. I remember one mistake from linesman in favor of Germany in 2nd half where they almost scored. (even though I missed few minutes of the match)
