  1. there is no qualification/final system for non-olympic events. just one competition and always without TV coverage.
  2. looks like there will be no gold for Iran in Rowing. we got a silver and a bronze today and our best chance finished with silver behind Vietnam still have two slim chances for the gold tomorrow. today was also better in Taekwondo. both of them made it to the semifinal. at least our women's team won't go home empty handed.
  3. The Iranian commentator was talking about that even halfway in to the next fight I agree with you but to be honest I was also surprised when they gave the second round to Ahangarian in the previous final. so maybe they just wanted to make it even .
  4. Mohammadseifi this is his 3rd back to back Asian Games gold. he is just too good for anybody (even China) .
  5. beating China in wushu is always something very special. I don't think Zafari stands a chance in next final but I expect another gold in the last final
  6. nope. they just finished all Final B in all events and then go for Finals A which started few minutes ago
  7. is there any link for Rowing finals ?
  8. that's somehow true. not entirely though. it's hard to say when it started but we had Constitutional Revolution half century before that. people was probably just tired of having a "shah" and then that Coup detat (thanks to western countries) which prevented Iran from slowly overthrowing the Shah and makes things worse by encouraging people for a big revolution. but that was a real revolution. at the time 99% of the Iranian population was supporting the revolution . even though most of them could not predict what's going to happen. btw Shah himself was very religious and that was his weakness unlike her father.
  9. Pencak Silat's draw is out. I'm surprised that we have competitors in almost every weights (all but one) ! I don't think we are good in this but who knows, we are usually good in anything including kicking or throwing since East Timor was a part of Indonesia, I thought maybe they are good in this and if they are going to win any medal in the history of the Asian Games. this should be their chance but it seems they have only 3 competitors and all of them facing tough draw.
  10. whoever made this stupid pic never ever read or see anything about Iran. back in 1970 the regime was secular (still a dictatorship) but the majority was religious and while some people would go the beach like that but the strong majority wouldn't but in current Iran while the regime is religious (even though I don't believe they are really religious ,they just use it as a weapon) but the majority (at least in big cities) are not religious. at least not much religious . and nobody nowhere in Iran wear Burqa (or whatever they call it) my points is. the current so-called Islamic regime made Iran much much less Islamic.
  11. from what I heard from Iranian cyclists, the host only let the other teams train (or even see the course) 2 hours before the competition. while apparently (according to Iranian cyclists) the host nation should let cyclists train in the main course 2 days before the competition. I'm no expert in this but I think being host is a huge advantage in MTB downhill.
  12. Sanda isn't really similar to other martial arts here. it's a mixture of punching, kicking and wrestling. of course it takes time to understand the rules. and that's terrible they don't show the score for TV audience. but those in the stadium can see the score from each judge (for winning the round you need 3 judge giving that to you) despite this, I'm not a big fan of Sanda, this is kind of a dangerous sport. I saw bad things happened before.
  13. Finals will be tomorrow morning. all of them. actually 5 (out of 6) of them will be Iran-China ! I think Iran will win one (70kg men) but I hope for maybe one more interesting note that our 70kg Sanda fighter will fight for the gold more or less at the same time as her wife competing for gold medal in Rowing.
  14. to win a round you need to push the opponent out of the platform 2 times . but that doesn't count as a push if the fallen guy have a hold of you
  15. we could easily win this 97kg Greco gold final which is the weakest weight in Asia but we wasted the chance by sending this piece of shit pathetic wrestler !! he didn't even a bronze ! Aliyari could beat all these guys easily the same goes to 130kg. how the hell they decided to send Mehdizadeh ?! he lost twice in Iranian national trials and finished 3rd. and today he showed that wasn't just an accident. being Asian Champion few months ago doesn't make you a good wrestler right now. btw watching Greco is not good for my heart , while the officiating was totally OK in freestyle (even we got lucky once), all dubious calls in Greco go against Iranian wrestlers. and we know this will be always like this when we wrestle against certain countries in Asian Games (Korea, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan)
  16. this is 87kg. how many men in Thailand are at this weight ?! he is probably the only wrestler Thailand had
  17. Geraei always makes things harder for himself but he usually ends up the winner he could easily finish the match in 1st period but threw the guy on himself
  18. comeon, this Korean guy is an Olympic champion, Permanov is an OK wrestler just not in the same level as Kim HW. btw Permanov won Turkmenistan's first ever medal in wrestling 4 years ago, not this time
  19. while our so-called big names (Khodabakhshi, Ashourzadeh) are falling like flies , Mirhashem Hosseini won our 2nd gold medal in Taekwondo he beat Korea in semifinal and the Olympic Champion Zhao in the final. well it seems we should throw the old team away and create a new one. interestingly out of our 5 gold medalists so far, 3 of them (Hadi, Rajabi and Hosseini) are ethnic Azeri ! so as they say "Yaşasın Azerbaycan" --------------------- looking forward for two more golds with two wrestlers in the final, even though I'm still upset about how the hell we lost two other semifinals
  20. since both of them wrestled against Iran and I watched them, I can tell you there is not even 0.01% chance for him.
  21. I knew guess why ? because there is an event with this name in Pecak Silat. btw. it just shows when they invented this sport the idea was playing only 3 vs 3. but then they got bored and tried to create more events. 2 vs 2 (as doubles) 4 vs 4 (as quad) and there is team doubles and maybe in future team quad
  22. Yes. each team consisted of 12 players. 4 for each regu (3 main players and one reserve)
  23. team regu is like 3 regu teams from each country playing against 3 regu teams from the opponent ! something like team event in Tennis or Badminton. since this is a knockout round. if someone wins the first two regu , there is no need for the 3rd one. stupid idea in general. just to create more events.
  24. added by them indeed but they probably just didn't know the others are better than them.
