According to Farsnews Saeed Alihousseini ban will end on october 24`th 2017! This is very surprising to me since he had a life time ban after failing two doping tests. He says his goal is the gold medal in the olympic games 2020. I think it will be very interesting if he really can achieve his old records whether we believe his story or not. Since he is born 1988 it is not completely impossible for him to have a comeback. The second interesting part of the story is how the iranian federation convinced the IWF to remove his ban. I would like to hear your opinions about the story. To me the whole story looks a little bit fishy.

somehow I missed the semifinal, but it seems Sourian won 8-0 in the semifinal and qualified for Rio. I know he had an easy draw, but I am still impressed. There was a big pressure on him to qualify since this was his 4`th chance!!! I don´t think any other wrestler in Iran would get 4 chances to qualify for the olimpics, but to be honest nobody deserves it more than Sourian. So it was the right decision to send him to Istanbul. After his lost in the 3`rd qualifier I was concerned that they will send somebody else to Istanbul,but once again Mohammad Bana made the right decision. Kudos to him and to Sourian. Now we have a full freestyle team and a full greco team in Rio.

Amir Ghasemi saved the day, but only a little bit. Hamid Sourian loss was of course a big disappointment and I don`t know if our federation will give him another chance. After all he had 3 chances to qualify. If I were Saman Abdevali I would except our federation to send me to the 2nd Qualification Tournament. Saying that I think Sourian would be the only one who deserves a 4`th chance.

Noshad Alamian qualified for Rio in Table tennis. Nima Alamian and Neda Shesavari were already qualified.

What did they say before the trials? Was the winner supposed to qualify automatically for the national team or was there a backdoor? I agree 100% that Mohammadi will be the better guy for Rio, but I am not so sure about Akhlaghi. Despite winning a bronze medal in the last WCH, he didn`t convince me. That Fall in the Quarterfinal was unnecessary. I always fell that Akhlaghi is a little bit lazy. On the other hand I don`t know nothing about Houssein Nouri.

I actually think that UAE has a good shot to surprise in this group

It`s funny. We have almost the same group like 4 years ago. Syria is replaced by Lebanon and China is added this time. So it is a little bit boring for me. I rather would have played against Japan than Korea, even though I think Korea is weaker. Anyway I think we got the easier group. Mainly because we got China instead of UAE and we can avoid to play in Saudi Arabia. Group B will be much more intereresting. I am curious if UAE and Saudi Arabia can make a surprise in this group, even though I think Japan and Australia remain favorites. In Group A Iran and Korea are favorites, even though Qatar and Uzbekistan have also chances. After all I think we must qualify for the World Cup and I am very optimistic this time. Saying that we have not much place for mistakes in this group and shouldn`t underestimate any opponent.

Yes the big difference is between UAE and China.Generally I would say that I am not afraid of any asian team right now. We can beat all of them. Japan is the strongest team in asia right now and I would say Iran is second and Australia/Korea third. Saying that I am somehow more concerned about UAE than Japan or Korea, even though we almost won every time against UAE. I somehow feel it will be difficult this time. I remember we won against UAE in the asian cup, but we were lucky in that match. We usually play good against Japan or Korea (home and away), but have problems with Qatar, Saudi-Arabia at least playing on their home soil. Also of course they are famous for dirty tricks. Anyway I think we have a very good team with talented young players this time and I am very optimistic that we will qualify. I think 2014 WCQ was on of the worst iranian teams I have ever saw. Ironically we qualified with this team ahead of Korea in the group. What would your favourite squad look like at the moment? I would go with something like that.
