  1. No idea. That's what Vancouver did as well. Don't know what their reason was
  2. A look inside the curling venue as they're starting to put the rings in!
  3. And that's just primetime. Here's the full NBC grid (yes, that is me on X and I'll have updated TV info each day from NBC press releases)
  4. As a Jets fan, I can honestly say that I have never wanted Sam Darnold to win a football game and beat the Pats more than I will in 2 weeks. Although I might need a nap that day since I probably need to be up early for the women's downhill since that could wind up being the most important sporting event of the day for me.
  5. Love to hear it. Always useful for me to help figure out my sleep/work schedule during the Olympics. And it's great finally being in a better timezone after the last 2 Winter Olympics both in Asia. There are some good things about that like live alpine skiing in the evening here, but too much going on in the overnight hours
  6. Took me 2 tries, but I got through the 2nd time around
  7. His best finish so far this season was a 6th in the pursuit at Ostersund. He was actually the fastest skier that day and the only one in the field who shot a perfect 20 for 20. So yes, definitely excited to see what he can do in Antholz!
  8. It is surreal that Lindsey is still doing that, even on the short run they had today. And equally exciting to see Jackie finish in 3rd that will help solidify her spot on the US team
  9. The IOC scared off every would-be bidder (the pandemic didn't help) and had to re-open the process where they needed to do anything they could to make sure they could hold off Salt Lake until 2034. I hope the French are able to pull it off or else it would take some of the luster off of what we all witnessed in Paris
  10. Hi all. Wanted to share my schedule spreadsheet, with the important caveat that this is most useful for Americans trying to figure out when events will be televised. But could be a useful resource to others here. There are 2 tabs at the front with the full event schedule. Similar to the schhedules here, 1 of the tabs is sorted by day and time. The other is sorted by sport. After that are day by day grids so you can see what's going on at any given time on a particular day. And there are tabs going sport by sport if you wanted to see what time there is speed skating each day. Combined multiple sports into a tab where I could (i.e. the sliding sports), but it has all 4 sheets of curling and both hockey venues. Like I said, this is more for the benefit of folks in the United States and I know there are only a few here. But for the rest, feel free to use this as a resource for start and end times for events and some individual events within the larger session. https://t.co/Mrpc88Q1bb
  11. I watched the first run this morning with Mikaela in 4th. Didn't see the second run. So I'm more convinced that she only skis well when I'm not watching! Might need to be careful when the Olympics come around.
  12. Lindsey Vonn has officially qualified and will be skiing for at her 5th Olympics! She first competed at the 2002 Salt Lake games as a 17 year old. Would be an absolutely remarkable story if she wins a medal in Cortina
  13. Very true point. Although I think at this point everyone is just holding their collective breath until the test event. The NHL isn't going to rage anymore until then because it's not like that would make the arena progress go any quicker
  14. Wouldn't be a proper lead-up to an Olympics without plenty of fear-mongering from the media. There are concerns, but not the existential crisis that some want to make it seem like everything is going to come crashing down.
  15. with a steal of 3 in the 8th end, can't make the last shot to stay alive.
  16. Oh yea. Seemed like they were starting to get some less than elite pitchers, but the commits they've had in the last 12 hours have been stellar. Now the staff feels like an embarrassment of riches. They have 3 elite starters and a bunch of guys that can eat innings. Thrilled what Mark DeRosa has been able to put together.
  17. with a successful draw on the last stone of the 8th end to defeat 6-5 and earn a spot in Cortina. It will be vs tonight for the final spot
  18. It is, but the tickets are limited. And you have to be a registered supporter of a particular team in order to access them. They're not really available to the general public
  19. Wow. Figured that Australia was in deep trouble with the loss to Netherlands. Didn't expect that to happen. Go Aussies!
  20. They didn't report specifics, but the story is that there was an illness with 1 of the players
