  1. This was the 7th season for De Kruijf and Wolosz at Imoco together I believe! Such a stable core for an elite team. Them and De Gennaro have been there for ages I feel like. Love it when a team sticks together
  2. Amazing Champion's League final between Vero Volley Milano 2 - 3 Imoco Volley Conegliano!! The EurovolleyTV broadcast was available for free in the Netherlands, was a great opportunity to watch some of the highest level volleyball. And with a great result: another major prize for Robin de Kruijf! Meanwhile on the men's side a convincing 3-0 win for Trentino Itas.
  3. Women's Individual Quarter Finals: (1) Gokkir Elif Berra v (8) Gavic Ursa (5) Gaby Schloesser v (4) Parlat Reena (3) Pavlova Anastasia v (27) Quinty Roeffen (26) Moshe Mikaella v (2) Elisabeth Straka
  4. Exactly my feeling! I don't usually watch basketball, but I enjoyed the 3x3 matches for some exciting variation during the Games last time. They've got an even stronger squad now with Worthy de Jong.
  5. Dang did both 4x400m fail a transfer or lose on time? I did not expect that. Dutch news isn't even awake to report it yet. The forum once again proving to be the best news source
  6. There's a new name in the 4x400m relay on the men's side: Eugene Omalla. He's 23 years old with a Ugandan father and a Dutch mother, born in the Netherlands but grew up abroad. He switched from Rugby to 100m/200m/400m sprint only a few years ago when he was 17 and is apparently very talented on the 400m. He runs for Kansas State University and after a really strong indoor season (45.18, faster than Liemarvin Bonevacia's NR) decided to represent the Netherlands internationally. He never represented Uganda internationally. His brother Jaime Omalla also ran a 46 seconds 400m indoor and will also represent the Netherlands, but he is not with the relay squad in the Bahamas.
  7. Tess Wester-Lieder, handball keeper of the 2019 world champion squad and 4th place at the 2016 Olympics, retires after 12 years in the Dutch handball team and 152 international games. She will keep playing for BVB Dortmund in the German handball competition, but retires from international competition to have more time with her family. https://nos.nl/artikel/2518957-handbalkeepster-tess-lieder-stopt-na-152-interlands-als-international
  8. One of best players Bennie Tuinstra will also miss this year's VNL. He's not injured and there's no conflict between him and the federation (yet). Apparently the federation forgot to check a box in the signup process and now he's not elligible to play and the Dutch squad is only 29 players... 9. Not a bad athlete to rely on luckily! I hope Kimmann can singlehandedly gather enough points for a second quota. Even if the second rider (Brink or Van den Burg) won't realistically reach the final in Paris, it'll be a good learning experience.
  10. Very happy for him! Interesting that we have another fencer after Bas Verweijlen (he also did epee I believe). Have to admit I didn't expect him to actually make it, but he did show some promising results in youth tournaments I believe.
  11. I am looking forward to everything! If I exclude the events I'll be watching live (of course I look forward to those the most), I'll name a couple that come up to me first at this moment: M road race cycling (Mathieu van der Poel) W 400m, 400m hurdles and all 4x400m relays (Femke Bol) W 100m freestyle (MOC, Haughey, Steenbergen) W Heptathlon (Nafi Thiam vs KJT vs Anna Hall) W Sport climbing (Janja Garnbret) M Team Sprint (NL vs AUS) All Keirin races
  12. Stam/Schoon always deliver in the early season Mexico Elite 16! Glad to see them on a podium again, hope they can peak in form little later in the season this year.
  13. I'm not the most knowledgeable about handball, but I feel like we can be pretty pleased about this draw for ! And everyone can be pleased ended up in different groups.
  14. A talent like McIntosh in swimming really is the difference between a regular Games and a record breaker! Impressive how Canada gets so many of their medals from some of the most competitive sports at the games (swimming and athletics).
  15. What a nice coincidence! An easy extra honerary title for Summer McIntosh I presume
