  1. 11/12 players at the 2019 World Cup were born in Canada, likewise 18/20 NBA players were born in Canada with one moving to Canada when he was seven.
  2. Canada's biggest issue isn't talent, it's getting that talent to play together.
  3. Yeah, there aren't a lot of options. Here are the tripartite eligible nations which competed at the worlds, continental or final qualifier. M1x - * W1x - * * * Nations with a * means they already qualified in a different event so chances of winning a tripartite quota is lower. If we exclude nations which have already have a quota in the W1x then we are only left with Malawi and Sudan so I think there's a good chance that either, one of the * nations get chosen, a nation which did not take part in any qualifier gets chosen (like Niger in 2012) or like in 2016, the quota gets reallocated.
  4. Indonesia needs to select its quota. That earlier article was before they realized they may have an opportunity to send the LM2x boat. All that changes is South Korea will compete in the LW2x while Hong Kong will compete in the W1x.
  5. There's no confirmation that they are getting the tripartite quota and even if they are it won't prevent the M1X quota from going to Kuwait.
  6. How can they remove even more quotas in rowing without dropping events? It's pretty skeleton as is. Eights already has the least amount of entrants outside of Baseball/Softball.
  7. Just to add some last minute discussion, here are the bottom ten events (averaged between men and women) in my diversity index (in simple terms it weighs the number of nations which attempted to qualify to the Olympics and weighs nations which do not compete in a lot of events a bit heavier). Please note that since the qualification process is not completed, the numbers will change in the future. 1. Rowing - Coxed Eight - 0.4228 2. Rowing - Quadruple Sculls - 0.5000 3. Diving - 10m Synchronized Platform - 0.5197 4. Rowing - Coxless Four - 0.5459 5. Triathlon - Mixed Relay - 0.5695 6. Diving - 3m Synchronized Springboard - 0.5861 7. Skateboarding - Park - 0.5948 8. Rowing - Coxless Pair - 0.5996 9. Artistic Swimming - Team - 0.6154 10. Cycling - BMX Freestyle - 0.6164 Rowing has an issue attracting nations outside of single sculls and lightweight double sculls. 4/7 of their events are in the bottom ten while double sculls isn't too far behind. Synchronized diving isn't too surprising either and then you have new events which haven't had as much time to spread.
  8. Here's a list of tripartite eligible nations who competed at the continental qualifiers. Of course participation in the continental qualifiers is not a requirement, but it can give an idea on which nations are actively trying to qualify. Note: Gabon, Mali and North Macedonia have qualified quotas in other events so imagine they will be less likely to be selected. Men's -80kg: Men's +80kg: Women's -67kg: Women's +67kg: Though now looking at the list, I wouldn't be surprised if Gabon or even North Macedonia is given the women's -67kg quota. Even looking at the -62kg and -67kg events at the 2019 World Championships only Montenegro emerges as an option. Of course it wouldn't be the first time a nation which made no attempt to qualify regularly was given a quota.
  9. 92 nations are eligible for tripartite quotas you can find a list here.

  11. The Ecuador Olympic Committee is already claiming the quota...
  12. Artistic Gymnastics OGU Oceanian Championships 2021 Does anyone have results, the webpage only shows Australians competing, but wikipedia is showing New Zealand winning the men's quota so I'm wondering if there was a separate Oceania result file...
  13. withdrew in Men's RS:X, the quota goes to That's 4/10 boats New Zealand decided not to compete in.
  14. According to the Jordan Olympic Committee they have already qualified a quota (from Juliana Al Sadeq) due to getting a bye. She usually competes in the -67kg so are there really only three athletes in that event?
  15. Because the IOC is still trying to get North Korea to come to the games. I believe all the quotas North Korea has won won't be reallocated until the very end.
  16. What do they mean by "not declared" does the athlete need to submit their performance to Athletics Canada?
  17. They might decline their second quota. As for other countries that tend to decline quotas, New Zealand and South Africa will probably keep their quotas based on where their athletes rank in the world rankings.
  18. That's what happens when the IOC reduces quotas, but still wants sport federations to include tripartite quotas.
  19. Correct, only the top 21 get quotas and Serbia didn't perform too well at the 2019 World Championships
  20. So if I got this right, the continental, 2019 worlds and 2019 U23 worlds quotas go to... Men - Africa - Pan America - Asia - World 1 - World 2 - U23 World 1 - U23 World 2 Women - Africa - Pan America - Asia - World 1 - World 2 - U23 World 1 - U23 World 2
