  1. Horse Racing Already restarted in dunno if that includes that stupid trotting June 1 in June 8 in
  2. Yeah, but what I’m saying is that the Cambodians, Angolans & Surinaamers maybe didn’t get past the prelims, so it’s not the Koreans’ fault that the athletes’ parade is so monotonous this year.
  3. South Korea dominate women’s golf like they dominate archery, have tons of world class players.
  4. Thought this was a necessary thread now. Let’s gather news of all Sports events, competitions, leagues etc confirmed to be restarting after the Lockdown. (That is, regular sporting events, not special made-for-The-Plague events like the Garage Dart League etc). Australia - National Rugby League (NRL) - restarts 28 May with Round Three Australian Rules Football League (AFL) - restarts 11 June with Round Two USA - Golf - PGA Tour - restarts 11 June
  5. Covid 19 Patient Zero? This is all your fault!
  6. Have a feeling the two Chinese meets are going to struggle to attract household names.
  7. Converted (and not very converted London double-decker!
  8. Cigarette companies were the major sponsors of motor sport in those days. Remember the Lotus black & gold John Player Special team & the 555 blue & yellow Rally Team. All many times World Champions.
  9. it was a simpler time. People genuinely believed that ringing the track with a single bale of straw & a hollow tube would protect them against a 200kmh accident.
  10. The BBC have live Korean footie tomorrow. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/52581366
  11. Damn! Only now, too late, do I find out that football was still being played not merely in Burundi (probably the world’s best terrace drumming) but also in Nicaragua during the global lockdown! (Tajikstan & Belarus everyone knew about). Burundi Primus League seems to be highlights only. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=burundi+sport+primus+league+ Nicaraguan Primera Liga is En Vivo, though. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPzZr57FrXWPbXrWkV0D2Qg
  12. I see that World Archery have taken inspiration from their indoor cousin, darts, and will be staging some live events, Open to everyone who has a 70m-long back garden. Actually, they are restricting to Compound.
  13. Only city in the world where I have been approached by a prostitute before 11:00.
  14. Luik-Bastenaken-Luik if you are getting the train from Antwerp to watch it.
  15. Everyone wearing hats, it was the age of politeness. Goal keepers (not shown) wore top hats & white goves.
  16. South Korean Baseball restarting - pre-season games from tomorrow, then a full Regular Season from May 5. https://nypost.com/2020/04/20/restart-of-korean-baseball-league-offers-hope-for-mlb/ Behind closed doors for now.
  17. Live football on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzZTOa7CVWGYjUh1G4if2AQ Vitebsk v Dinamo Brest (not the one in France) Seemingly the first half of a double header with Bate Borisov & the mighty Torpedo (odd team name for a land-locked country) Zhodino up next.
  18. Very apathetic crowd though, hate those corporate fat-cats making seats too expensive for real fans.
  19. There are plans being made to restart baseball by basically creating a giant version of the spring training competition. All teams would move to Arizona or Florida when they reopen, which might be soon. All the games would be played there, behind closed doors initially then with spectators later. After that, play 100+ regular season games, then play-offs as usial..
  20. Most famous example was GB’s Ice Hockey Gold in 1936. Team was mainly made up of guys who were born in the UK, but whose parents had later emigrated to Canada, so they learnt the game at school.
  21. It’s a long-term rule in boxing that you can’t fight for.....I think 21 days....after any defeat.
  22. It was always my theory that the reason the Russians doped was that they were all brought up on a stupidly macho old-fashioned по-советский harder-and-longer training culture and that doping was the only way mist if them could get through it.
  23. Don’t get started on the pre-World War I Olympics. Hungary won tons of medals that I’m sure would now be claimed by about six different countries.....
  24. Agree, no other way to work it, there are so many anomalies.
  25. Nice, on schedule to overtake sometime in the 2070s! Still way ahead of
