  1. Hot as mustard!* *Obscure joke.
  2. Seemingly she is one of those accursed athletes where every minor competition is a triumph, every major competition is a tragedy.
  3. Yeah, they have four or five favourites marked who’ll get the treatment so…
  4. @hckošice Volko looking strong.
  5. Wow, NR & Q for Louis ! BBC doing a live interview with Onyala where he realises that he has run out of his lane…… Judge’s discretion & subject to a protest.
  6. Hendrik Larsson Junior wins in the city where his father was a legend!
  7. Not surprised to see 60m NRs for & there. Fijian guy has done enough to earn a free drink & a place on the sofa.
  8. But so many no throws! Always feel like telling them to cut the crap & just shuffle to get a distance in, but they are shot putters so I am too scared to say anything.
  9. Think the issue was that Learmonth got a personal invite, not a team one. I certainly agree with taking our top 21 year old if there’s a place, but for a perpetual never-quite like Learmonth…..not so sure.
  10. Doom beats Faust in the 400m Showdown of the Mad Scientists.
  11. Good news is that the dedicated Field Event streams on Eurovision Sport are NOT geo-blocked. https://eurovisionsport.com/schedule
  12. Straight morning final in the Women’s Shot. Very strong field too.
  13. Oh, they definitely needed the result of the Fourth Heat before they could give the decision of a three-way dead heat!
  14. 3rd heat in the Women’s 400m is going to be decided in the Law Courts, looks like - 3 way tie for second & auto Q
  15. Teams for the NCAA Championships next week announced. Some World Cup names involved. Will be live-streamed. https://www.ncaa.com/news/skiing/article/2024-02-27/2024-ncaa-skiing-championship-field-announced
  16. Here’s the obligatory “Where to watch?” Post. Here in Britain it’s the BBC, which means luxuriant amounts of aimless yakking, not very much shot put qualification. https://worldathletics.org/competitions/world-athletics-indoor-championships/glasgow24/where-to-watch?countryCode=GB Alternatively, the World Feed, if you have your full-blown VPN. https://worldathletics.org/videos
  17. Yeah, that might be the one. But I’ve noticed that in 1500m since those days, no-one even gives their neighbour a handshake until all racers are finished - a long time in the heats!.
  18. Yeah, but other swimmers were still racing. The rule is that everyone has to finish, isn’t it? Wasn’t there a DQF in an Olympic Relay for this? Sydney 2000? I’d have thought that any 1500m swimmer would learn the rules at about age 9.
  19. Geez, the “wait till the race is finished” rule has been around for, what, 30 years now? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/othersports/article-13136413/NC-State-Owen-Lloyd-swimmer-ACC-championship-title-stripped.html
  20. It’s on YT with German comms.
  21. Yeah, they have been doing it this season. It does have the good effect of making the last eight cutoff point a lot less predictable, but the medals generally go to the usual nations.
  22. 6 months to the Paralympics. Paris 2024: All you need to know for Paralympic Games - BBC Sport
  23. Don't know, but I'm guessing leftists are throwing fits because they lost the election so heavily.
  24. Will be interesting, but my confident opinion based on complete 100% ignorance of the principles of either sport but my willingness to start a fight is that surfing depends on physical strength, and that skateboarding depends on youthful flexibility.
  25. Exactly. Or you have a seeded competition based on a four-year world rankings on fencing and if you’re knocked out in Round 1, whose fault is that?
