    Yeah, that might be the one. But I’ve noticed that in 1500m since those days, no-one even gives their neighbour a handshake until all racers are finished - a long time in the heats!.

    Yeah, but other swimmers were still racing. The rule is that everyone has to finish, isn’t it? Wasn’t there a DQF in an Olympic Relay for this? Sydney 2000? I’d have thought that any 1500m swimmer would learn the rules at about age 9.

    Yeah, they have been doing it this season. It does have the good effect of making the last eight cutoff point a lot less predictable, but the medals generally go to the usual nations.

    Will be interesting, but my confident opinion based on complete 100% ignorance of the principles of either sport but my willingness to start a fight is that surfing depends on physical strength, and that skateboarding depends on youthful flexibility.
