    Ya a six point was too cute by half. Oh well, honestly, I'm going to be happy with any outcome that includes Canada keeping their Tokyo gold (I don't even care if they do some other Solomon nonsense like bumping everyone else by one spot without DQing Canada). If Canada pulls out getting out of this group, and manage to medal again... I mean, at that point you just can't argue they didn't earn it. And then the punishment just looks stupid because it makes this Canadian team the hero of the story.

    At this point might as well deport him xD The six point deduction is the perfect "everybody is unhappy" punishment, because it allowed FIFA to not do the bold action of disqualifying Canada while still hush hush saying that they were, in effect, disqualifying Canada. Except obviously if Canada advances... and is pissed off enough to actually make some noise... ya. Honestly though, if Canada gets out of this group I don't think anybody can say with a straight face that they didn't deserve it.

    actually looked quite vulnerable against in mixed doubles today. Maybe has a real shot at winning that event?

    Two very big gold medal chances in McIntosh in the 400IM (arguably Canada’s best gold medal chance period) and Christa Deguchi. I’d say we have enough half medal chances / athletes who could win a medal but aren’t favoured that 3-4 medals tomorrow is a real possibility. Anything less than two would be a big disappointment. Exciting!

    Ya know what, IDGAF about the loses. We got two absolutely legendary Olympic moments today with Harvey’s bronze and the women’s soccer team rising from the dead. Day 2 was kinda fire.

    eliminated in surfing, I believe this is the first sport that we had qualified for that we are done in. Dempfle-Olin finishes tied for 17th. Not a great performance, but for her the victory was just qualifying.

    A win against will guarantee at minimum (and at most unlike a really weird result in - ) second place in the group. The six point penalty can be overcome.

    Fencing is one of my favourite sport, and one of the sport I've actually participated in. Just so amazing to see finally win a medal after some of those 4ths and close calls. Hopefully this will spur some growth in this beautiful sport in Canada. For me this medal is worth a lot.
