    I'm no field hockey expert but I feel that Canada got extremely lucky to be awarded a penalty stroke there. I'll take it, but still.

    So for the second Olympics in a row Canada's qualification will be decided by a shoot-out.

    Well aware, paid the 70$ for the snow pass last season. It was a sub-par product at best, sticking to Eurosport this season.

    Sure sounds like the ISU was offering unreasonable terms. Not being able to get the CBC on board is astonishing.

    Incredibly sad they don't have a European-wide broadcasting deal... It's incredibly difficult to watch figure skating in the United States, too.

    It would be a pity to force the South Korean players to sacrifice their roster spots and their chances at winning games. At least in women's ice hockey North Korea and South Korea were comparably ranked teams.

    France got very close, but they ought to be very happy with the state of their program. They may be a dark horse for a medal in 2024.

    South Africa will not reject their men's quota, they have reached the NOCs' selection criteria. Not sure if they are accepting the women's quota. Either way, any reallocation goes to the highest ranked team that lost their play-off match. Except for the South African men, since Egypt is ranked in the top 20 and were runner-up in the African qualification event they would get the quota.

    Ya, I looked up his story after my post and it does appear that he is very committed to South Korea. So that's not too outrageous, minus the doping violation.

    67 is just not enough for an Olympic road race, should be 100 athletes minimum. Would be ideal if both road races had 150 starters or something along those lines.

    Sadly? Mongolia qualifying would be a joke. I'd be ecstatic if Mongolia qualified by merit rather than because they gamed the dumb ranking system well.

    I would actually quite like to see a Four Continents Curling Championships now that Asia has a handful of competitive countries.

    That would actually be Karuizawa, which hosted equestrian in 1964 and curling in 1998.

    There are plenty of sports where I can see myself cheering for the US. Soccer though? Too many painful memories for that to happen.
