Qualification Tracker

Test

Everything posted by NearPup

  1. The NZ team was already pretty old by PC.
  2. Only 13 NOCs qualified in total, same as 2018 (if you count South Korea and the united Korean team as one NOC). qualify in both men's and women's. Very nice to see make it's debut in both men's and women's ice hockey at the same time. First time this has happened outside of hosts and ROC/OAR, which doesn't really count.
  3. So there will be direct qualification matches between and and between and tomorrow. Despite losing both their games has looked quite good.
  4. The mass start could be a lot less bad if they just removed the stupid point system.
  5. with a big 1-0 win over and now group D is truly a mess. Scenarios for tomorrow (I think this is accurate): qualifies if they win or go to overtime against qualifies if they win in regulation and fails to beat in regulation qualifies if they beat by at least 5 goals qualifies if none of the above happens
  6. I'm sure that was a massive relief :P
  7. Halfway through the CONCACAF final round (after every team has played every other team once) leads ahead of and . is the only undefeated team, while is the only winless team.
  8. The only watchable format.
  9. van der Poel picking up right where he left off with a dominant victory in the 5000m. Dutch surnames finishing 1-2-3-4-5 with Bloemen, Roest, Bergsma and Swings.
  10. Ya, isn’t even the second best ranked team in the group and have never qualified for the main world championship. Germany did not look good.
  11. is in real danger or missing out on the women's hockey tournament for the first time, and it wouldn't even be that much of an upset. What a fall for that program.
  12. Talk about a terrible way to end your season
  13. can't even beat in men's rugby anymore. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/rugby/international-rugby-test-canada-portugal-recap-nov-6-1.6240015
  14. http://ow.ly/iJ4i30rZhWq Sounds like there is real concern internally that Modern Pentathlon will be removed from the Olympic program from 2028 onwards by the end of this year.
  15. Why did they deny it yesterday? Lol
  16. I honestly think the number of unvaccinated athletes at the Olympics will be closer to zero than ten. The quarantine requirement is so harsh it just isn't practical.
  17. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/winter/alpineskiing/world-cup-canada-1.6236825 Urs Kryenbuhl and Ralph Weber will miss the Lake Louise world cup races due to not vaccinated. Seems like there is a decent chance they will both miss the Olympics, too.
  18. Seems kind of damning that a world class modern pentathlete is completely incompetent in one fifth of the sports that comprise modern pentathlon, and it isn't even an outlier.
  19. I think this was always just a threat to China that they had to get their ducks in a row when it came to naturalizing players. I think everyone (except the Norwegians) wanted to see a Chinese team, even if it’s a team of ringers.
  20. The men's hockey team saga is over, they will compete in Beijing.
  21. Hopefully this means Paris 2024 is the last time this sport is in the Olympics. Tradition is the only reason this sport even exists, you remove riding and you lose that.
  22. He's actually in a decent position to end the season ranked number one in the 1000m. Seems like he's the de facto leader of the men's team now.
  23. So Canada has finally won an event at the Short Track world cup, the men's relay at the second competition of the season. The team did get some help from a fall by , but this is still a very nice result, since it still required beating and defending Olympic champion to the line.
  24. Canadian Road to the Roar (Olympic pre-trials) news: On the men's side, 2010 men's Russian national champion and 2013 Roar of the Rings runner-up (as an alternate) Jason Gunnlaugson qualified for his second Olympic trials as a skip and fourth Olympic trials overall. The ninth and final berth on the men's side will come down between the teams of Glenn Howard and Tanner Horgan. On the women's side, Krista McCarville's team won the pre-Trials to claim the eight berth at the Olympic trials, while Jacqueline Harrison won the ninth and final spot.
