  1. Coming back on the ski is a one thing, but will be in 100% shape is another. I think she should skip the downhill at all (the course in Cortina wasn't usually very favorable for her, without only last season) and only focus on the SG and the Giant Slalom. Summer training with materials isn't as important there as it`s in the DH. In the DH we will have Goggia for big things: if she will be in good shape and healthy, she will be the favorite for gold in Cortina (she won numerous World Cups in that track in her career). We will need Fede, especially in the Giant Slalom, where we have no one else (Goggia is unstable for many years and Bassino recently dropped out of the top 22 on the start list). https://www.olympics.com/it/milano-cortina-2026/notizie/federica-brignone-verso-milano-cortina-2026-recupero-infortunio-sci-alpino
  2. Ok, for 2011 but 2004 it was a some years earlier.
  4. The lack of gold for Italy in M4X here will be a huge disappointment for me: we are the only ones here with an unchanged squad from Paris, the Netherlands are not there and the rest of the teams have 1-2 elements at most. For now, I think the Italians are holding back a bit, but I'm hoping for a full-fire run in final and a gold medal. We need to seize these opportunities when our opponents are weaker. In the women's W2-, unfortunately, Romania is out of reach, but silver/bronze are possibile for Italy. This should be a battle with France and the USA. Overall: two medals in Olympic events would be OK for us here, but it's important to win some gold, becouse we have a little number of gold this summer.

  6. Donnarumma win trophy of Lew Yashin: The best goalkeeper in 2024/2025 season. It would be nice, if in the Italian NT he played just well https://www.instagram.com/p/DO60SW6jbZi/
  7. I remember that I went a sports forum by accident a long time ago, around 2004/2005?, but I didn't visit it again after that and forgot what it was named. I thought it might be a predecessor to this forum, or maybe someone was posting somewhere back then and knew something.
  8. Yes, a lot of dsq in that competition but Loutitt was a World Champion on Large Hill in 2023. It wasn`t a miracle. I think that Lara Malsinier could have achieved such successes too, because why not? She was a great junior a few years ago and the women's elite are less concrate than the men's.
  9. What`s going on? If they will permitten to start someone like Bolshunov, it will be bad... He went to marches with Putin in 2022, just like Rylov. https://www.fondoitalia.it/2025/09/22/sci-nordico-atleti-russi-ai-giochi-olimpici-la-fis-ne-parlera-mercoledi-24/
  10. Is it possible that around 2004 and Athens OG this forum or its predecessor existed?
  11. Judges significantly lower their scores for that. Another thing is that if you land very far, it's actually safer to land on two feet than to do a telemark.
  12. Braathen likely had some conflict with the Norwegian federation, but he already had enough name recognition to secure a private team with the support of powerful sponsors. If he had had to start as a youngster with a federation as poor as Brazil, I doubt he would have had a no chance of breaking through in high. So, Norway was his only option at the very beginning of his sports career.
  13. Gaia Brunello would probably choose Italy if she had the chance to compete there – she doesn't have that chance now, but 15-20 years ago she could, because biathlon was at a much lower level here than it is now. We barely had four or five people for the relay team. At the beginning of the 21st century, we had far more success in women's cross-country skiing than in biathlon. It was change just until around 2014-2015, thanks to succes Wierer and Vitozzi.
  14. For me, the wide-body suits of the early 21st century were the best – fewer injuries and there wasn't any significant technological advantage from powerhouses like Germany, Austria or Finland (the power of that times). Then Roberto Cecon from Italy was able to achieve good results, as was Adam Małysz from Poland, which wasn't a powerhouse at the time and probably didn't have the best equipment. Around the end of the first decade of the 21st century, changes began to be made to the regulations, suits etc, and so on. More injuries occurred and the sport was cemented for many years by six countries: Germany, Austria, Norway, Poland, Slovenia and Japan.
  15. Looking by only results in last years, I think Kenya invests more in athletics than Ethiopia, but I don't know any specific numbers. I'm only looking at the medal standings.
  16. Now I checked that this forum exists since 2016... Btw, our Lorenzo Finn is 1 month younger than the young Slovak girls, but unfortunately he was 4 seconds away from the podium today
  17. It's a pity this forum wasn't exist when Sagan was winning gold medals at the World Championships in series, because Kosice would definitely be happy
  18. Men also have a high number of injuries, so it's not just a women's case. Fortunately in ski jumping, these accidents aren't death, as in alpine skiing, but they also exclude many athletes from the fight for medals, etc.
  19. After such an injury, it's immediately clear that it's serious and later most precisly tests only 100% confirm it Unfortunately, in winter some sports- especially alpine skiing, ski jumping, etc.- advances in technology and medicine haven't reduced the number of serious injuries/accidents. This is strange and I think it's a problem that needs to be more seriously actions, not only speaking and conversations.
  20. https://www.voleylibre.com/
  21. A return to Italian tradition - 4th place The Finn is the youngest of the top teams, but the Frenchman, only a year older and win the bronze. The Sweden dominates - they really have the ability in Scandinavia: Nor, Swe to ability to find great champions and train them. We could also use this mentality, instead of the huge number of 2, 3, 4 places.
  22. Bulgaria last time reached the World Championship semi-finals in 2006 with this generation: Kazyiski, old Nikolov, Tsvetanov, Zhekov etc.- they ultimately won bronze in that time. Now it seems they even have a chance at the final, as they don't have Poland or Italy on their path to the final. We will see, as they're still a young team and they might have a worse match.
  23. Lucas Braathen in alpine skiing (his mother was from Brazil).
  24. This seems to be the best summer season in Slovakia in many years, but you are still complaining
