  1. You still need to build a strong women's team, but that's probably more of a political case? Nevertheless, there are many more possibile medals to be won, of course, if that Iranian women are want to practice this sport. The same is for women volleyball.
  3. Did he have any serious rivals from Iran at the time? Is he still remembered and respected in your country, or is that a distant memory and are there new heroes?
  4. The USA is a similar favorite to us against Argentina in volleyball: 1.50 vs. 2.50 with the bookmakers. It's a open game. But again, everything will depend on Paolini and her doubles with Errani. Unfortunately, our second racket is very weak and that's what sets us apart from now and those days with: Pennetta, Schiavone, Vinci and Errani: there were 3 or 4 players at Paolini's current level and now she's alone.
  5. Ex. Fed Cup and final Italy- USA tomorrow?
  6. In your opinion Karelin was really that good to stay at the top for so many years, or did he have some kind of protection from the judges? Because not losing for 13 years is shocking for me Especially since many rivals could have tried to unfairly attack him, eliminate him, etc., like the French. What do you think about this?
  7. Since when has France had strong a good influence in this sport? It's always been a rather weak country, while Azerbaijan has always been strong and corrupted referees.
  8. In short track there were much more absurd repeat - also in the finals
  9. The final wasn't repeated?
  10. I wonder if Jacobs is 100% certain to leave after this season? In theory, he could still run until 2028 because he isn`t that old.
  11. Even with this squad and these problems, final for Italy was certainly realistic, as the time needed to reach the final was poor – much weaker than in 2023. Without Desalu's mistake on start, there was a good chance of advancing, but the fact is, this relay team couldn't hope for anything significant this season.
  12. Jacobs incident with man of South Africa? In my opinion, it wasn't the Italian's fault because he was on his own track. For me, it was a track incident and should simply be left as is. This is sport and anyone can have bad luck. I don't like the constant interference with results, protests, etc., especially since it always do a lot of time. I haven't seen the USA case, but it was probably similar – they were unlucky and that happens. This is sport and some things should be left as they are: on the track, not later on green table.
  13. For Italy it`s great success in this World Championships, but there are some negatives things: - only 1 gold out of 7 medals- this is poor effectiveness, - without Stano and Palmisano (both over 30), our race walking is practically nonexistent in the senior category, - a decline in the sector of sprint, especially the men's: 4 years ago at the same stadium at the Olympics, we achieved miraculous things, but now most of that gold-winning relay guys (Jacobs, Tortu, Desalu, Patta) are in completly of out form or at end of his careers. At now, there are no succesors.
  14. Fabbri could have won gold in my opinion, but he was in poor form this year.
  15. If it weren't for Pichiardo's last jump, it would have been a complete success per us.
  16. With 2 gold medals it would be the best performance in history but now I think that in 1995 it was a bit better.
  17. Bronze, but only 1 gold.
  18. Paracetamol? It's a medicine for small children :P I have stronger medication for calmness, but unfortunately I don't have a prescription for it right now.
  19. It`s time to sleep. A dark night for Italy. Without experienced leaders, our race walking has died. Let's hope Battocletti wins 7th medal for us in the 5000 tomorrow.
  20. Italian race walking without Stano and Palmisano doesn`t exist and that is the problem.
  21. Spain has its own sport, where it dominates, and Italy may have Battocletti, but what good is it if she has no chance against the Kenyan? Italy used to be good, but now they've fallen.
  22. Spain is disrupting the system with its walk, and Italian walk doesn't exist without Stano. Currently, Spain is better than Italy.
  23. The last time I watched the World Athletics Championships on TVP was in 1999? I guess Szaranowicz was already commentating then?
  24. Where they have good contacts, they're already coming back, but in athletics, they're having a really hard time, which is why they were kicked out 10 years ago. Unless there's a drastic change in leadership in world athletics, they won't be back anytime soon.
