  1. Italy under Mazzanti and Italy under Velasco are completely different teams. Italy under Mazzanti almost never had good form at the most important tournament of the season. In 2022, the level wasn't very high for me, as Serbia won. For me, Brazil was the favorite in the final then, but that team still hasn't broken the World Champ. curse.
  2. On a specialized volleyball forum, someone user from Brazil wrote that their NT team has too little power on the attack to beat Italy without Ana Cristina. What do you think?
  3. Omoruyi was a great junior talent and maybe she'll finally start playing up to expectations? In MB's case, we must to hope that Fahr and Danesi will be healthy: fortunately the first two group matches will be against weaker opponents, so there won't be many difficult matches (if they're playing for medals, that will 7). https://www.instagram.com/p/DNk2Q6jSfPb/
  4. There's only one change in the starting lineup from 2024: Nervini for Bosetti. Bosetti had a very poor season in Turkey, especially offensively and has always had significant limitations – at 179 cm heigh. Nervini doesn't necessarily have to be a weakness in this team – he's only 22, but the rest of the starting lineup is experienced: de Gennaro, Sylla, Danesi, Orro and Egonu. I believe Brazil is more weaknes due to the absence of Ana Cristina.
  5. Italy without: Pietrini, Lubian, Bonifacio (all the refused NT) and Degradi, Nwakalor (injured).
  6. Nice par but for Carlos it`s probably sweet adventure, nothing more Just like for Sinner romance with Kalinskaya.
  7. It's a pity for Sinner, and he'll likely lose his No. 1 ranking after the US Open—he needs to win it to maintain his top spot. Even if he wins, there's little chance he'll remain No. 1 for the end of the year. Alcaraz has made significant progress this year—playing consistently and solidly—with fewunexpected defeat . Sinner, of course, has suffered a significant for missing several months due to a suspension in the spring. Even excluding today, Sinner has a very poor record match against Alcaraz and essentially only a winning Wimbledon final can save him. He's previously won Grand Slams titles without play with Alcaraz. Seeing for Alcaraz's progress, that likely won't happen again and the Italian will have to start beating the Spaniard more often if he wants to win 10+ Grand Slams in his career.
  8. First match against Italy: friday on 15.00 CET
  9. And speaking of earlier times, I remember a crazy car trip to Turkey in 1995 and to Spain and Portugal, also by car, through France: the French Riviera (Cote d`Azur) and the Pyrenees (also in the second half of the 1990s). We went there in 1996 and 1997 for for all month: one week in Lloret de Mar, then Marbella and the following year Benidorm and the Costa del Sol + a one-day camping trip to Portugal, later return by Toledo, Madrid, San Sebastian etc. Incredible memories, also because the Schengen Area didn't exist yet and there were always funny adventures at the borders For me, car trips like that had a special atmosphere: you were driving through different countries, reading about them, getting to know them, meet some peoples, unlike now, where you get on a plane and go to somewhere far away. It's probably not for me—perhaps because I'm a bit afraid of flying.
  10. From what I remember, Paralia was a large resort: music, disco, a lot of people, etc. More for young people. I was there when I was 14 and again when I was 18, so it was okay for me. Personally, I really liked Katerini and in fact, I once think about staying in Katerini and only go to Paralia on the sea. Btw., I once read that Greece also has winter conditions for alpine skiing in winter for amateurs, but that's more for a indywidual trip. Cross-country skiing competitions are also held in Greece in winter- Fis competition (non World Cup, of course).
  11. I was in Paralia/Khaterini 2 times in my life at the beginning of the 21st century. I remember one of the trips was to the Aquapark in Thessaloniki. I wonder if Paralia is still as touristy popularity as it once was? Overall I have a nice memories about Olympic Riviera.
  12. I don`t think saw... Japan looks very strong and solid + excellent form.
  13. I'm curious how Putin flew there? From Moscow eastward through Siberia and Chukotka, or the classic westward through Europe and the Atlantic?
  14. Italy- Brazil and Japan- Bulgaria in semifinals. It`s a another great result for Bulgaria in youth/junior age category this summer in women`s volleyball. New powerhouse?
  15. Who watch Trump- Putin meet in Alaska?
  16. Twitter è sempre stato molto politico e poco sportivo.
  17. Lara Malsiner out of all Olimpics season I'm afraid this might be the end of her career https://www.fondoitalia.it/2025/08/11/salto-con-gli-sci-stagione-finita-per-lara-malsiner-sfuma-il-sogno-olimpico/
  18. A bit non-Italian style: high medal efficiency, especially in gold and few 4th places
  19. Italy won the medal standings This is a surprise to me, as it didn't look like it would happen yesterday. However, in the points standings we finished only fourth.
  20. Finalmente... Ora anche 4-5 stadi moderni per Euro 2032... https://www.gazzetta.it/Motori/07-08-2025/ponti-sospesi-i-piu-lunghi-al-mondo-prima-del-ponte-sullo-stretto.shtml
  21. In 2022, we played France in the 1/4 final and now again? I don't like this format. It's almost certain from the start who will face each other in the 1/4. On top of that, Poland in ewentually 1/2 and Brazil has an almost certain path to the final...
