  2. Italy is practically nonexistent in this sport, maybe outside from a few decent performances by our girls (but also zero potential for anything more than a points places), but that was to be expected after the withdrawals of Chamizo and Conyedo (will they ever return, or is this the end?). Unfortunately, without the naturalization of 2 or 3 more strong fighters, our future in this sport will be very bad
  3. Ultimately, Japan won the medal standings ahead of Iran (with the most medals, but one gold medal less), largely thanks to their women's team. Iran dominated two of the three categories: Freestyle and Greco-Roman, but unfortunately miss of any women's team significantly limits them. Hopefully this will change in the future, becouse they could dominate this sport for many years in the future. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_World_Wrestling_Championships
  4. Italy: +11 (62 vs 51), but compared to 2017: +53 (62 vs 9). We have been making great but systematically progress since 2017, but we are still a miss a little more of gold medals.
  5. In 2021 she was probably also a favorite, even though she was much younger, but then the strong Russian girl competed. I don't remember what the gold medal result was back then?
  6. The Norwegian stars have disappointed probably first time for many years, and Finland has had problems for many years in summer sports: they only real chance here was in the women's hammer throw.
  7. However, for Italy, 11th place in the medal table is quite low, but it was realistic, because with only 1 gold medal, you can often be outside the top 10, but looking at where we were 8-10 years ago, there is great progress: In 2015 and 2017 we scored about 10 points in this classification.
  8. Machuchik, however, was a little disappointment for me: she winning only a bronze medal, ex aequo. She had a weak second half of the season. I don't know why? Injuries? Ukraine managed to salve that one bronze medal, and luckily, but a better performance from the entire team could have been expected. What do you think?
  9. Points table:
  10. Italy: 6th in the points table, but only 11th in the medal table... And all because we're not winning enough gold medals. It'll be similar in Cortina in six months
  11. Sweden has two killers and is ahead of Italy in the medal standings. We had a great performance, but we still lacked minimum one gold at overall.. However, we don't have enough dominant athletes in sports, whether in athletics, swimming, etc. There are plenty of silver and bronze medals, but very few gold medals. But apparently that's our beauty and there's no getting around it.
  12. Go Lituania!!!
  13. Juantorena, but unfortunately he's too old now. Someone like him from 10 years younger would have been useful right now.
  14. Looking at our recent matches against Poland, it'll probably be 0-3. The last time we won a important match against Poland was in the 2022 World Championship final, but Leon didn't play then. In my opinion, Leon is the deciding factor in the match against Italy. Give us Leon and the result will be the other way around
  15. At global current level and without Fra and Bra, we have no right to lose to anyone else here, except Poland. What we did today was just a normal day at work. I don't see any reason to celebrate.
  16. Now, probably Belgium in 1/4. I doubt if we can lose to them twice in the same tournament. Without Bra and Fra, we can only lose to Poland here if we play solidly, just like in the VNL. Unfortunately, we will probably play in 1/2 against Poland, so a bronze medal match is likely, but even bronze would be a success here without Lavia and with a concrete Fefe on the bench
  17. Anyone here like volleyball? Who will win this morning: Italy or Argentina?
  18. Not good for 1 lane, but we will see. For sure lane 2 looking good here.
  19. They will be run in 9 in final?
  20. I see Italian TV isn't broadcasting anything right now Where can I watch it? TVP Sport, or where else?
  21. Last night... Only one run in relay for Italy today
  22. Thanks, to long answer. Another me question: how would you compare Iran after the revolution to Iraq under Saddam Husajn? I don't think there was such radical Islam in Iraq, but women didn't seem to be actived in sports, right? I remember Iran and Iraq fighting a long war in the 1980s. Are your relations still as tense now? On the other hand, Iraq is a bit of a failed state now, because under Saddam Hussein it was quite a significant player in your region?
  23. Turkey is also a Muslim country and it looks completely different in women sports: wrestling, boxing, volleyball, basketball and recently even footbal!!! etc. I wonder if there are any political forces in Iran that would like to follow Turkish model of life?
  24. Nel frattempo invece, calo in wrestling continua... Forse questa federazione dovrebbe semplicemente chiamarsi :"Federazione Judo", perché sembra essere l'unico sport in cui fa qualcosa...
