  1. 4/5 for us + wirtual QO from ranking 4x400 mixed.
  2. Isola and Rizzi are already in the semi-finals Looking at the form this year alone, Navarria is probably doing the worst. Fiamingo definitely shouldn't fight in the last match in team tournaments.
  3. I remember Sydney 2000 best: it was my first Olympics as an informed spectator. Overall, in my opinion it was the best time for our sport: great football, the best football league in Europe and lots of medals at the summer and winter games. On the other hand, after losing the Euro 2000 final against France, I cried for several nights and couldn't sleep. Good thing it was summer then and there was no school :P
  4. Italy is the only nation among men that is able to interrupt Polish domination from time to time, either in the national team or in the club. For me, Trento deserved this title after so many years of waiting. Moreover, it is a rare example of an Italian team with a great youth academy that is not afraid to rely on young Italians: Michieletto and Giannelli trained there in their youth.
  5. A remember that: an unbelievable finish. These were the beginnings of the crisis in our sport and miss of this gold was very hard for me. She later competed for the Azerbaijan national team.
  6. Kherson region was not famous for good kayaking school? For example: Inna Osypenko-Radomska comes from there.
  7. Finally a victory for Trento after 13 years (time of Juantorena and Kazyiski) and three defeats in the three finals in a row (two in 2021 and 2022). The series of victories of Polish teams was also broken: 3 in a row. In the women's game, Paola Egonu played very poorly today and this is worrying in the context of the national team season.
  8. Yes, but it's better to advance today. There is one change from yesterday.
  9. Italian squad today: 4x100 uomini: Roberto Rigali, Marcell Jacobs, Lorenzo Patta, Filippo Tortu 4x100 donne: Zaynab Dosso, Dalia Kaddari, Anna Bongiorni, Arianna De Masi 4x400 uomini: Luca Sito, Vladimir Aceti, Edoardo Scotti, Davide Re 4x400 donne: Rebecca Borga, Ayomide Folorunso, Viginia Troiani, Giancarla Trevisan 4x400 mista: Lapo Bianciardi, Anna Polinari, Riccardo Meli, Alice Mangione Changes from yesterday in bold font.
  10. The 2023 World Champ definitely counts.
  11. Ok, but FIDAL announcements were that we were aiming for 5/5 relays in Paris. I don't understand why you can't replace 2 people in the mixed relay, because that would be perfect. Today's finals in traditional relays no longer have any significance.
  12. If Côte d'Ivoire and Jamaica advance, we will at 100% advance for the ranking but of course it is better to win against Spain today and advance together with the Africans. Yesterday's Spanish time should be within our reach. I prefer to will have 5/5 relay teams - it looking well in the media and you can take an additional 1-2 people to Paris. It is known that individually in the 400 meters we have no chance of winning a medal, just like in the two 400 meters relays.
  13. Then we don't have a chance. I don't understand this lineup from yesterday. You could field one team and run slowly - you could even run for training.
  14. How many changes can Italy make in the mix today?
  15. We defended ourselves, but the women's 4x100 relay team on big -. I hope for her promotion tomorrow or possibly Jamaica's promotion and Costa d'Avorio = 1st place in the ranking. I'm worried about the mix - without 2 changes there is no chance for the amount.
  16. The whole world is simply making so much progress in sports that it's impossible to keep up. Ireland, Belgium etc. After all, this is the universe these days compared to ours.
  17. Ok, but why is there a regression from 2021? and from the World Championships in 2023? We have the European Championships in Rome and even in this sport we are losing distance?
  18. I don't know if we will qualify anything here except the men's sprint. In Tokyo we had 5/5. Unfortunately, the world is running away. The Italian relay team didn't even try to fight with this squad.
  19. And the other competitions?
  20. To sum up, Italy did not deserve to be promoted to the Elite. They were unable to win against either Slovenia or Hungary. If they had won at least one of these matches, even after overtime, they would have advanced. Everything worked out perfectly for Italy: playing at home, failures of the main rivals against weaker teams, optimal preparation time for the tournament, etc. If we didn't advance in such a situation, we will never advance. Especially since I don't see any further plan here. I wonder what they will do with the Canadian coaches?
  21. Overall, these Olympics in Cortina-Milano will be a huge failure. It is not even known whether they will complete the bobsleigh track on time... Comparing 2006 and 2026, you can see how we have fallen as a country, because at least then all the sport facilities were completed on time.
  22. From 2019 we knew we had the Olympics and since then, instead of moving forward, we have been playing worse and worse. What's the point? Look at France, Switzerland etc. Even 15 years ago we played on equal terms with them, and now we have no chance against them. I don't expect miracles, but winning against Great Britain or Slovenia without their few experienced players should be obvious. Hungary played here with a hopeless coach and a conflicted team, but they still beat us. And this is our case... When will we finally win against someone serious?
  23. Taking into account the miss of Russia and Belarus- 5 years ago we would have been fighting against relegation from this division, because instead of Korea and Japan, e.g. Great Britain, Poland or Austria would be playing here. Let's not forget this. In my opinion, we haven't been this weak for 30 years. And no 8-1 against Korea will change that... We should have scored one more goal against Hungary and that mattered. Now we can wait another year and lose again to someone like Hungary or Slovenia. I won't be surprised if next year we lose to Romania and Ukraine, because there is progress there, while we see stagnation. It used to be unthinkable to lose to Great Britain like last year.
