  1. There is no Russia, so someone had to take over their role :P
  2. From what I remember, in judo, the scoring system changes every Olympics, etc. It's hard to get your bearings and keep up with the changes. In addition, if our guys only losing, watching these embarrassing spectacles is a kind of hara-kiri.
  3. By the way, I've had enough of boxing and judo for the next few years :P Unclear rules, controversial judges and constant polemics. I'll stay only with fencing, because at least we win something :P
  4. The minimum plan was 2 medals, like in Tokyo, although I was counting on 3. Lombardo and Giuffrida in particular could have easily won bronze medals. Scutto got this 18-year-old from Sweden, who is a great talent. Maybe we should take the World Championships in 2024 less seriously?
  5. Wrestling hadn't even started and I had no expectations for it. In judo and boxing, however, we were going with great ambitions: Testa and Abbes were favorites for gold, but they lost in the first rounds and even I don`t know why. Yesterday, Testa won 2 out of 3 rounds and still got eliminated. In my opinion the old scoring system was more fair than the current one.
  6. So only Bellandi has a chance for a medal If we win 0 medals, it will be a big failure. We sent a record 13 competitors here, 4 of whom had a real chance for the podium: Scutto, Giuffrida, Lombardo and Bellandi. From the last 3 World Championships we regularly came back with 2-3 medals. Unfortunately, the worst event in this 4-year period was at the Olympics

  8. Fencing is also very difficult to evaluate and there is a lot of controversy in it but at least you can see the constantly changing result. Boxing should sooner go in the direction of taekwondo, meaning there should be sensors that register punches and some machine should count them on an ongoing basis. Then there will be no room for abuse. And now, who knows what counts? The number of punches, accuracy, strength? Or maybe someone raising their hand in a gesture of triumph after winning a fight? Every judge assesses it differently, there are many contradictions and absurd situations. It's more of a circus than a sport.
  9. It's okay to accept defeat if you know why you lost. Then you can learn from it. It's worse if your entire 3-4 years of work depends on a few corrupt clowns who can screw you in one night.
  10. I will definitely not watch boxing in this form again :P It's just a shame that our boys and girls, who for 3 years won a lot of medals at the World Championships and European Championships, only to be cut out on the first night, for some unknown reason. If I were them, I would throw it all to hell.
  11. I think only Krejcikova can win a set from Swiątek here. Krejcikova won the French Open in 2021 and recently won Wimbledon. She is a very good tennis player but her form fluctuates greatly.
  12. I think it's a bit too much for Paolini: 2 Grand Slam finals in a row. She had to have a weaker match, like today. I hope it will be beneficial for our girls' doubles chances.
  13. Moravian Derby :P Czechoslovakia will definitely have someone in the semi-final :P
  17. Imagine, for example, football, where goals don't count and after the match some jury meets and decides based on their impressions who wins the match and who loses. No one knows what's going on and why it's happening. After these games I'll never watch another boxing again.
  18. Tomorrow the Netherlands should win 2 gold medals in men`s rowing: 2 i 4.
  19. Judo and boxing ruin our statistics. I don't understand and don't want to understand these sports and the way of judging. It's a shame about judo in particular, where we have 3x 5th place I won't comment on boxing, because it's the most incomprehensible sport in the world for me with this way of judging.
  20. Ho guardato l'incontro adesso e per me l'italiana era migliore.
  21. Isn't that how it`s in taekwondo?
  22. You're right. It should be like in fencing, where the score is always visible on the screen. There are controversies there too, but at least we know what the score is.
  24. What do you think this is about? Are these judges idiots or is someone paying them money for these frauds? In my opinion, even in 2008 and 2012 these results were more understandable than now, although there were also controversies.
  25. I hope Italy stops funding this sport. It makes no sense. Better to invest in disciplines where at least it`s known who wins and why.
