  8. Yea, never seen a country loose this much depth, ever in this sport. Thankfully OTP has realized investing only in current potential is not the best way of going, so maybe we should see a rebound in 2026 and onward (sustainably).
  9. Does anyone know if there are height requirements for ski jumping venues?
  10. Katherine Diaz, only 22, surfing, was trying to qualify for Tokyo, and was struck by lightning while training.
  11. Im not sure I agree with the whole Meng arrest. However, China arresting two Canadians on false pretenses, then having a sham of a trial, is something I do not agree with. Ps. I don't think any country would do anything like that for NK
  12. China arrested two Canadians ("The Michaels"( on dubious charges and the trial for one started yesterday. The Canadian delegation was barred from attending the trial, you know because China is the beacon of transparency. In response, these countries/delegations sent their senior diplomatic staff: US, UK, Netherlands, Estonia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Australia, Germany, France, Switzerland, the EU, Czech Republic, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Spain, Austria, Norway, Lithuania, New Zealand, Belgium and Romania. All of which were banned too.
  13. That's right. If you don't qualify a team, you can only qualify one per event.
  14. I have stopped looking at rankings in archery after Bolivia's women's team qualified for Lima
  15. Gender equality isn't there for men. It doesn't fit the narrative.
  16. Pan American Qualifying entries Including 6 time Olympian in Luge Anne Abernathy
  17. I listened to all the songs, and my first choice is locked by a long shot. Wow.
  18. Never understood why the rankings never assigned the continental quotas first. If it was done like this the exact top 8 would be in Tokyo...now you have Canada who will be demolished in their matches.
  19. Who would the C1 for women be reallocate too?
  20. Really surprised a out no international volunteers because all bring in some with English/French speaking skills. They are going to have to find people within Japan to replace them. Also atm they are recruiting and international workforce atm....bizarre.
  21. Group B 0 3 0 2 Weird start to Group B: https://thecomeback.com/soccer/haiti-10-players-honduras-concacaf-olympic-qualifying.html

  23. In an interesting point the weightlifting federation in Cambodia will oversee skeleton (as per the article)....I give it 2 cycles till we see a mixed weightlifting skeleton event at a Youth Olympics (just kidding ofc)
  24. has announced a 9 part internal series to help athletes qualify for the games. https://athletics.ca/athletics-canada-announces-nine-meet-domestic-series-in-advance-of-tokyo-2020/
