  1. Skylar Park won gold at the Pan American Championships, a nice warm up for Tokyo Yong won bronze in the 46 kg category.
  2. has confirmed some new names for the team Mohammed Ahmed (St. Catharines, Ont.) – Men’s 10,000 metres Mathieu Bilodeau (Quebec City, Que.) – Men’s 50-kilometre race walk Malindi Elmore (Kelowna, B.C.) – Women’s marathon Cameron Levins (Black Creek, B.C.) – Men’s marathon Ben Preisner (Milton, Ont.) – Men’s marathon Andrea Seccafien (Guelph, Ont.) – Women’s 10,000 metres Natasha Wodak (North Vancouver, B.C.) – Women’s marathon
  3. Arthur Margelidon and other judoka from Team Canada tested with a false postive for Covid and cannot go to the worlds in Budapest. He is 6th in the rankings and there is potential to drop below 8th (which would drop him from being seeded for the games)
  4. The refugee team will he announced on Tuesday
  5. Tomorrow starts a 9 part Athletics competition across Canada to allow for athletes to improve their rankings/hit the standard.
  6. Is it likely for and to be in the same group next year?
  7. As per the qualification document, Ukraine should be 100% confirmed in the women's event.
  8. I spoke with the ED of Taekwondo Canada and they are still waiting for confirmation
  9. Confirmed: Even though Canada qualified, Cycling Canada will not be entering a team in the women's Madison competition.
  10. Bhutan is confirmed for archery shooting and swimming only. No judo this time.
  11. FIS has released quota simulations for all disciplines. Have fun! https://www.fis-ski.com/en/inside-fis/document-library/winter-olympic-games From what I see, Aerials has only 11 nations and 7 team event entries, yikes.
  12. Multiple reports say qualified in men's singles. Not sure if its wildcard or reallocation (more likely)
  13. Interesting the world tournament quota was not awarded to America's athletes yet.
  14. Yea without a doubt. Canada gained +39 quotas through two easy team sport quotas (men's rugby and women's water polo) + addition of softball to these games. Even with baseball + softball in 2008, Canada is on track to surpass that here. I think credit has to be given to a focus on qualifying as much team sports as possible. Own the Podium (Canada's medal winning funding process) had started a team sport focus in the last quad, and its paying dividends here. If men's baseball + men's basketball qualify, the team size will be just over 400.
  15. This is a dumb format. What if the USA loses tomorrow? That won't matter and they will still go into the final round tied with a team 3-0.
  16. survives a last minute rally by and will play for top place tomorrow in their group Cuba which has medaled at every baseball competition will not even qualify. Sad.
  17. was leading Turkey 2-1 sets, with 23 points in fourth, and ends up losing, next day defeats Olympic champions China. That is sport for you
  18. Apparently its now back on lol @Benolympique
  19. Both evening games delayed due too rain
  20. beat 3-2, leading in top of 10th, almost eliminated!
