  1. Rebecca Marino advances to the semifinals in women’s singles tennis after defeating Colombia’s Yuliana Lizarazo 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. One win away from a Paris berth!
  2. Tammara Thibeault wins gold in women’s 75kg boxing, after a 5-0 victory over Panama’s Athena Bylon!
  3. Canada stay undefeated in men’s field hockey pool B action, after deafting US 2-1!
  4. Yeah @orangeman, Martha Bayona Pineda is no joke. Capable of winning as many as two medals at Paris (women’s sprint/keirin)
  5. Sanoa Olin and Cody Young have both advanced to Repechage 5 in women’s/men’s shortboard surfing!
  6. Fourth for Tye Ikeda in men’s 50m rifle 3 position. Another gold for Mexico.
  7. Men’s/women’s shortboard gold/bronze medal matches will be determined today, if I’m not mistaken?
  8. Right okay, time for an Olympic quota preview. For surfing, if Tatiana Weston Webb/Alan Cleland advance to their respective finals the Olympic quota will be determined. If not, then on the 30th. For shooting, two quotas are available in men’s trap (and US has already qualified two athletes), don’t see Collin Grover troubling even the final though. In men’s 50m rifle 3 positions, one quota is available (US has qualified one athlete already), Grzegorz Sych should be our best shot.

  10. At last year’s Women’s and Men’s Field Hockey Pan Am Cup, Chile won silver behind Argentina.
  11. Frankly, don’t see it happening. Mel/Brandie can contend for medals on the world stage, but Duda/AP are on another level.
  12. Aren’t they good at men’s and women’s field hockey as well?
  13. Starying these threads early so I don’t have to do them later
  14. 7 pages on one of the least busy days of the games…
  15. Really hoping Scarlett Delgado and Charlie Cavanaugh can qualify through the WOQT.
  16. An almost perfect day for the Canadian surfers. Olin lost her round two heat to Brazil’s Tatiana Weston Webb, although not completely surprising, as she’s one of the best surfers in the world and one of the contenders to medal in Paris.
  17. Accidentally posted this early, will update with the rest of the qualifications as the session goes on. Women’s 50kg Quotas Jennifer Lozano Caroline Barbosa De Almeida Women’s 66kg Morelle McCane Barbara Maria Dos Santos Men’s 51kg Yunior Alcantara Reyes Michael Douglas Da Silva Trindade Men’s 63.5kg Wyatt Sanford Miguel Angel Martinez Ramirez Men’s 80kg Arlen López Cardona Wanderley De Souza Pereira Men’s 92kg Abner Teixeira Da Silva Junior Joshua Timothy Edwards Bad day from a Canadian Olympic perspective as we went 2-3 today (2-4 if you count Coldwell’s withdrawal) with a pretty much guaranteed win for Tammara Thibeault
  18. Wyatt Sanford is the second Canadian athlete to book their ticket to Paris, after advancing to the men’s 63.5kg gold medal match at the Pan Am Games!
  19. Tugrul Ozer secures a men’s 10m air pistol quota for Canada at Paris by winning gold at the Pan Am Games!
  20. Wyatt Sanford qualifies for the Olympics in men’s 63.5kg, and advances to the gold medal match!
  21. Which one were you watching?
  22. Women’s Trap Quotas:
  23. 1-3 (1-4 if you count Coldwell’s withdrawal) in boxing today…
