  1. Adding onto that then, I believe one of my parents friends know Leylah Fernandez, my aunt, who owns a makeup company, has chatted to Bianca Andresscu about sponsoring her, and my dad’s friends friend is Steph Curry’s physiotherapist Unfortunately, I haven’t met any of them yet (I have seen Bedard at the school many times before, but every single time got too nervous to talk to him)
  2. Wow really? That’s so cool, damn. Speaking of going to the same school as an athlete, Connor Bedard went to my school.
  3. Sam Schachter/Dan Dearing qualify for the Olympics in men’s beach volleyball through the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier!!
  4. Quota for in men’s beach volleyball through the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier! Happy for Sam after what happened during the Tokyo 2020 Qualifier, his partner Pedlow couldn’t side out to save his life
  5. 2022 World Champion in women’s hammer throw Brooke Andersen will NOT be going to the Olympics, as she X X X‘s out of the finals during the US Olympic Trials!
  6. Bansley speaks a little bit of Portuguese? Didn’t know that about her
  7. Heather Bansley/Sophie Bukovec qualify for the Olympics in women’s beach volleyball through the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier!!
  8. Quota for in women’s beach volleyball through the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier!
  9. Quarterfinals v. v. v. v.
  10. @Benolympique how exactly is the amount of quotas that France has won, well below expectations
  11. They handed out tripartite quotas at previous Olympics, and there was still enough room to invite athletes with B standards.
  12. Ah yes, Greece, my favourite European swimming powerhouse (my reaction to their performance this past week) Must be all of the gyros that they’re eating
  13. Don’t be, I’m sure they’ll be fine Unrelated, but Mary-Sophie Harvey produced a new PB of 4:07.70 in the women’s 400m freestyle at Sette Colli! One of my favourite swimmers on the Canadian squad, so happy to see her swimming well (hopefully her form continues heading into the Olympics)
  14. Well, not so fast… If there’s any B standard invites handed out, Oleksiak will be in. Oleksiak is the only swimmer (besides MacNeil) in the world with that standard according to @Topicmaster1010
  15. I’m not him, but yeah there’s absolutely no chance. Not sure why they would taper for a random meet when the Olympics is only a month away.
  16. I can feel your pain. As far as team sports go, Canada just barely missed out on qualifying in men’s rugby sevens and women’s volleyball. There was also lots of luck involved with qualifications that I’d thought were guaranteed (at least at that point), women’s basketball team had to rely on Spain defeating Hungary (they were down 20 or so at one point), and our men’s volleyball team had to rely on Bulgaria. I’m not going to include our women’s 3x3 team, as they lost to Australia and Spain (fellow medal contenders) in their first two chances at the Olympics. Most of the other qualifications were as expected, of course our men’s basketball team FINALLY qualifying was one or the rarities (although with their talent it shouldn’t be). Basically, what I’m saying is that even in team sports which we did qualify in, it’s been disappointing. Edit: More luck was required with our women’s waterpolo team, we had to rely on South Africa declining their quota
  17. Not sure how this hasn’t been mentioned yet, but Illya Kharun recorded a new PB of 51.02 in the men’s 100m butterfly at Mel Zajac! Not typically a fast meet/pool, so this is a great sign for the upcoming month ahead.
  18. For those of you who are too lazy to click on the article; Pool A: Pool B: Pool C:
  19. defeat in 5 to win bronze!! Blocking masterclass from Poland in the 5th set Great match, I’d highly suggest you give this a watch.
