  1. Well, this whole thing could have been aimed at removing Shoygu & Gerasimov but Putin misjudged how powerful they really are and suddenly it's Prigozhin who will be getting the axe instead as the "coup" turns into a failure?
  2. @heywooduWelcome to XXI century, I guess people want to watch knowing the results in advance? Maybe you could find a way to click on the replay without looking at the video icon? Or tell Bruna to start the video for you?
  3. Like mentioned above, medals are given based on results from all three divisions, so yeah, even a winner can come from Division II or III.
  4. If Prigozhin goes for an actual coup attempt - against both Putin & the Army - then he is way more stupid than anyone thought and this will be over real fast.
  5. Prigozhin has been talking negative things about the regular Army for some time. This suggests he is being allowed to say that by someone real high... i.e. Putin himself. Putin might not be able to openly criticize the Army since that might cause a true revolt but if a third party does that then it's suddenly Putin's gain.
  6. Bydgoszcz is in a complete different part of the country so it's not really the case of the same people (non)-attending. Like I said before the two reasons are: a) lack of promotion, I didn't realize athletics will be held in Chorzów until few days before EG and I live less than 20 kms from Chorzów itself b) EG started in the last week of school when most adults are still working and before the actual holiday period in Poland. PS. It doesn't help Chorzów will host the Skolimowska Memorial on July 16th. I suspect there will be more people for that meeting than EG three weeks prior.
  7. Klaudia Kardasz is furious after the shot put drama. Apparently the electronics measurement was also affected hence they had to reboot the system and start the competition from the scratch. https://przegladsportowy.onet.pl/lekkoatletyka/polka-w-centrum-duzego-skandalu-jest-wsciekla-zostalam-oszukana/h2x6xpe
  8. The mascot is the dungeon dragon, a Polish children's fairy tale that takes place in Kraków
  9. Fantini wins the W Hammer with 73.26. Kosonen and Kopron on the podium. Payne in 4th place.
  10. The promotion was sub-standard IMO. I don't know if people here even realized that the Euro Games will have multiple hosting venues and thought it will all happen in Kraków. The multi-location promotion was nowhere to be found and most media here only went gaga that ski jumping will be held in the summer alas even Kamil Stoch recently said he will only compete because the ski jumpers were forced to take part in this event (since it's held in Poland). Yeah, so much for the positive vibes. The timing is something else, June is not a total holiday period here, school only ended today and most families plan their free time for July & August.
  11. Femke Bol wins 400 with 49.82. Natalia Kaczmarek in 2nd place so all according to plan.
  12. Toimil got a 15.32 mark so some points there.
  13. And they're wiped all the shot put R1 results away (ten marks in total) and we start from the scratch
  14. Yeah, the lines in women's shot put are totally wrong. Dongmo under 19 meters per lines and 19.78 per the measurement. Now there is a delay to change the lines. Sigh...
  15. Klaudia Kardasz measured with 18.56 but even Chmara said the shot landed around 17 meters mark
  16. Katrin Brzyszkowska. A name any Pole would be proud of
  17. Division I action gets underway with women's hammer. Polish TV hyping up Kaczmarek vs Bol later tonight already...
  18. WTA has agreed to put a flag next to Varvara Gracheva from next week in Bad Homburg. She hasn't received the French passport yet. French women's tennis is so bad these days that Gracheva will become the French #2 right away (behind Caroline Garcia).
  19. The sun is back again. There was a major thunderstorm in the morning but it's all clear now
  20. Well, the Den Bosch final will be repeated in Berlin QF. Alexandrova blasted Cori Gauff 6-4 6-0 winning 11 of the last 12 games while Kudermetova beat #2 Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets.
  21. Camille Jedrzejewski? Sounds like Poland won 1.5 medals there
  22. For all the PGA-LIV merger/takeover hoopla Wyndham Clark winning US Open must be the most anonymous and low-key moment for years. There's literally nothing worth remembering from this tournament at all - aside that McIlroy's putting is horrendous as usual and it cost him another victory in the big picture.
  23. Well, there will be pressure to perform for Wright now. The minor nation underdog story goes away with him switching to United States.
  24. Kraków actually has a left-wing President from the former communist United Workers' Party. It's the biggest Polish city that still has a former communist as President (though technically he's indepedent).
