  1. Given how TVP lost World Cup ski jumping coverage before last season I wouldn't be surprised if they blocked all outside broadcasts of the sport for EG
  2. They are on TVP Sport. Watching Bajor vs Samara bronze medal match right now
  3. Going topless in public is suddenly an equal rights thing in Catalonia. Guess the conservatives won't protest that idea too much https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66029635
  4. @Rafa MacielSince Sandra Drabik is in the 54kg division, our media say that all EG semi-finalists will qualify for the Paris OG
  5. I think so. There is no Olympic tennis qualifying per se, the WTA ranking is the official measuring stick and French women have completely lost depth in the last few seasons. Other than Garcia & Cornet there is nobody who can play at Gracheva level atm. Parry & Paquet have stalled, Ferro was out injured and Mladenovic is a joke in singles these days.
  6. beats 29-7 in the second SF so we have the somewhat expected final
  7. Bernadette Szocs beats Natalia Bajor 4-0 in the second SF and will play the Chinese from in the final.
  8. @Olympian1010Yeah, I get it IOC propaganda tune is only positive comments about breakdancing are allowed these days. Well, I'm out on this sport wholesale. Can't make "fetch" happen
  9. @phelpsIOC shrunk the 470 class into mixed only and you want them to stay progressive? It's mind-blowing how they butchered the programme and want to promote surfing which is highlights sport only. Most people have no clue about the surfing style points and you are stuck waiting 20 mins for a single wave. Ideal sport to go to the toilet or cook a meal and still nothing happens on the screen in the mean time
  10. @phelpsI presume billards isn't progressive enough to appeal to the mythical "urban sports" standard. After all those 15 year breakdancers wouldn't even be allowed into your local pub which billard is still stronly associated with. Same "problem" why darts won't become an Olympic sport anytime soon. The big trio of "pub sports" - cards, billard & darts i.e. associated with alcohol & tobacco smoking. Nope, not your IOC urban standard
  11. Well, the QF ended like four hours ago and the TVP Sport commentators immediately said Czech Republic plays Poland in SF
  12. If you mean drawing crowds in the US-based World Games? Well, lacrosse is basically unknown in Europe and frisbee is well, a barbecue game. It's the same "problem" why netball is endemic to Australia, everyone else in the world prefers basketball and nobody calls for netball to replace it. The novelty of breakdance will wear out sooner or later, the same way the excitement over slalom in snowboarding (since replaced by the parallels). In 1998 it was the sport of the moment since everyone wanted to watch the novelty but only 20 years later it doesn't move a single needle anymore, even the less bally-hooed moguls remained more popular.
  13. So it should stay at World Games. If IOC thinks the future of Olympics is breakdance and e-sports then we might as well expect nordic walking too. Or maybe chess? Hell, maybe poker should be considered an Olympic sport too?
  14. Breakdance has zero history as a sport and it won't build any in the short attention span generation IMO. Latino dances have a better claim to become an Olympic sport. Plus like I've said before, adults simply do NOT watch children doing sports unless they are parents of kids involved. There is no way getting around that. 15 year olds being world champions in breakdancing is a story but most people watching Olympics are... surprise, surprise... adults!
  15. beats in the QF and will play next. I assume we could expect vs final?
  16. Elena Rybakina has withdrawn from Eastbourne and apparently she is still feeling the effects of virus that forced her to withdraw mid-event from Roland Garros
  17. Yeah, Mancini lost to Sandra Drabik on Saturday.
  18. Well, I had live timing from the EA site and it was OK as usual, thankfully my original login still works and more importantly I didn't forget it Overall a good showing from Poland and we still remain a top European nation in the sport
  19. Bernadette Szocs wins the women's QF and celebrates briefly on the table itself
  20. This week's finals: Berlin 500 Petra Kvitova def. Donna Vekic 6-2 7-6(6) Birmingham 250 Jelena Ostapenko def. Barbora Krejcikova 7-6(8) 6-4 Fun fact: Kvitova and Ostapenko will meet in R1 in Eastbourne most likely on Tuesday. They actually played the 2022 final there.
  21. It's literally downtown Kraków and a popular tourist location
  22. In the end Angels beats Rockies 25-1! They set franchise record for most runs (25) and hits (28) in one game Their previous record was 24 runs vs Blue Jays in 1979.
  23. LA Angels just scored 13 runs in one inning vs Rockies (in Colorado). 15-0 is the score after three innings
