  1. Shiffrin/Vlhova tied for 1st
  2. Well, her PS best is 17th from Courchevel last season
  3. Robinson was skiing for the lead but crashed out...
  4. Well, Maryna G-D 17th after Maribor 1st run so this is pretty impressive for Polish alpine skiing Shiffrin seemed to take it easy and still almost 0,5 secs. ahead. Also New Zealand in 2nd run?
  5. [hide] Knockout Round January 20th - February 1st, 2019 16 Nations, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Final Final Date & Time (GMT+4) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 February 1st 2019, h. 18:00 Japan 2 1 Qatar [/hide]
  6. Yes, these juniors from top biathlon nations like Germany, Norway or Russia are like destined to be left on the sidelines due to the strenght of the World Cup team. However those Russians for instance could think about changing nationality to Belarus or sth like that? I'm sure Germans or French could represent Belgium or Luxembourg for what it's worth? Of course there are some extreme cases like South Korea too (Frolina, Laphsin). Poland & Czech Republic or Slovakia are quite different for that matter, any successful junior faces very little competition in the seniors and has a clear shot at World Cup full-schedule. Davidova is making the most of that already but Zuk simply isn't (and that in a season where Guzik & Gwizdon are out of the WC squad).
  7. IOC needs to make profit though. Who really cares about squash in first place? Badminton has a huge following in Asia but squash? I haven't seen like 5 secs. of this sport on any TV channel I've watched in my life. Hell, even cricket has more TV access even though it's only played by 10 countries in the world.
  8. Schladming night slalom. Feller & Noel out in the 1st run already.
  9. I'd rather have boxing & wrestling than squash tbh. Won't fight the fanboys of the sport here
  10. Good for them. But I don't see it. Squash being an Olympic sport is a joke. We have tennis & badminton and that's more than enough IMO.
  11. I can only imagine squash has a ton of failed tennis prospects to boost their status?
  12. Poland will field the best team in USA/Canada. The plan was to take Anterselva easily (esp. in Hojnisz's case).
  13. Squash? That's like a niche sport. Who actually plays that on pro level? IOC needed decades to have tennis back and squash is probably even less important than badminton?
  14. Kamila Zuk 7th in the junior individual with 4 misses. She won this event last season and allthough her skiing time was 60 secs. faster than anyone else, the shooting was poor. Still, this is not the way to go given how her chief rival from last season Davidova has moved on in the World Cup.
  15. Well, the WJC are held in Slovakia right now so where else would he be?
  16. Poish Fed says the cost of this tunnel equals 100 years of salary for the snow blowers and of course it's dangerous with the side wind hitting the jumpers on take-off. The wind factor is assessed during the in-run and this tunnel would prevent that. All in all, a very dangerous idea according to several Polish experts. It would make more sense to have ski jumping indoors which is an idea floating around for years (and probably only the Germans have enough funds to build such an indoor hill tbh).
  17. This is being ridiculed even by some Polish experts
  18. Uiloq Slettemark liked my FB comment about her daughter!
  19. Cornelia Huetter suffered a partial ACL tear in that crash today and is out of WCH. She walked away from it so it looked as she dodged a bullet but not anymore.
  20. Endurance racing is at it's worst tbh. And I thought the Audi dominance was bad (and it sure was). There's some cool stuff in America but WEC is a joke, period.
  21. Formula E over IndyCar? Hell no. F1 & IndyCar are the best, WEC is a joke given how Toyota has no competition and WRC is stupid under Super Rally rules. I miss the multiple factory teams competing in the 90s. Now it's a glorified privateer series.
  22. Polish ski jumping will take a massive hit once Stoch & Zyla retire. Tomasz Pilch was labelled as the next Malysz last year but he's completely off even among the juniors. The kid signed a deal with Red Bull but hell, Malysz is his uncle so there is that. We'll slide down the order like Finland after the 2022 OG
  23. I bet Gwizdon kinda raised the average age for the girls there. Our commentator once recognized her by her boots color during an awkward relay shot (real quote). Btw, since you hang around these biathlon venues do you know Sebastian Krystek? (a Polish journalist).
  24. Hanna Oeberg will take part in EC in Minsk & skip the trip to Canada & USA. Obviously grandma Gwizdon will also be in Minsk (in case anyone misses her on the World Cup ).
