  1. ES Poland shows the useless ski jumping so I'm on stream for this
  2. Mirjam Puchner wins her 2nd race ever - another DH during the World Cup finals (previously St Moritz 2016).
  3. And now Cornelia Hutter can't walk off on her own power. The ladies are going down literally until the last weekend of the season.
  4. And now the girls with bibs 10-14 appear to get the best results. Your point aged very bad
  5. Why? Everyone hated this idea myself included.
  6. Well, Hanna Oeberg is definitely ready to take over for Forsberg, Olofsson & Jonsson as the true elite force in the women's biathlon. 20/20 in back-to-back Olympics & World Champs? I'll take that. Good to see Vittozzi bounce back with a medal, Wierer was good on skis but just one miss too many. Braisaz saving some pride for the French women's team but they are really struggling in total. Dahlmeier 19/20 and no medal. I wouldn't have guessed that. Fialkova blows the gold on the last shot and comes out with nothing Norwegians horrible on the range, their worst skier Solemdal actually had the best result 18/20.
  7. Ragnhild Mowinckel took a nasty tumble off the jump and probably injured her knee
  8. We got a little lucky Kamila Zuk & Kinga Mitoraj really excelled in the juniors so they could transfer into the seniors right away. Nowakowska retired aged 32 but Gwizdon & Guzik are still there albeit not on World Cup this season. And also Monika Hojnisz who represented the old Tomasz Sikora club. But the most important part is these girls are all listed as military athletes like they have in Russia/Germany/Italy so they have some extra support from the army. Some other juniors are not so good, Hojnisz's older sister retired while Anna Maka & Karolina Piton are mid-pack IBU Cup standard at best. It also helps the Duszniki Arena is probably the best outdoor winter sport venue in the country aside from the Szczyrk & Wisla ski jumping complexes.
  9. You can always buy someone who's too weak to make someone else's A team
  10. Excuse me but this is done to more sports than just race walking. False starts that extend the coverage - gone, reduced number of attempts in throwing events (got shot down, remember the move to have only 4 throws post-qualifying?).
  11. Yes he was but if Justin Gatlin got a third chance then why we should object to Loginov getting a second? Lifetime bans after one-time offense isn't gonna happen no matter what MF says.
  12. @RobtheAggie Mark Kirchner? Myriam Bedard on the women's side but she had the pregnancy break.
  13. Right. You mentioned his awkward comments about Pidruchnyi though. If he says that in public I can only wonder what he really thinks about all this
  14. It's not paranoia. His deleted IG comments were aimed at Loginov though and then Shipulin fired back
  15. I hope they pull this through and keep the 20/50 distances. Let's make no mistake, this is driven by the TV deals. They don't want to waste 4 hours of TV window for race walking. They kicked them out of the stadiums for the finish section not to interfere with some random morning heats sessions already and now they want to make the event even more obscure than it is already.
  16. Like none of these athletes care about the politics. They couldn't recognize Odessa from Omsk anyway. It could have been worse if we had a male Kuzmina out there so a Russian competing under a different flag with those kind of results. Since Shipullin has retired I guess MF needs to find a new punchbag. Might as well be Loginov and/or Pidruchnyi. It doesn't surprise me a lot.
  17. There's a clear anti-Russian/Ukrainian propaganda in the Western world. What else do you expect from Fourcade? He probably wants all banned from IBU competition
  18. I picked the wrong Frenchman to win 2 medals in SP/PU. Went with Desthieux and QFM is spoiling my results
  19. Pidruchnyi REALY going for redemption here! 15 secs ahead of JTB. Could be just not enough...
  20. JTB misses three! He wants to add some excitement here...
  21. We went from a 4-men group battling for silver to a 5-men group with completely different names Pidruchnyi going for redemption!
  22. This is old school biathlon where shooting was paramount. It's only in the last 15-20 years when we've had these extremely good skiers who could win despite missing 1 or 2 shots more than the rest. Look at Kuzmina, 13/20 and still Top 6. That would never happen in the 90s. Dahlmeier knows she won't out-ski anyone at these Champs so she has to keep it clean on the range.
  23. Germany will shoot well but I wonder if Preuss' today's performance takes her out of the relay? Hinz was equally lacklustre in the sprint. Norway has the speed but not the shooting. Russia can sneak under the radar.
  24. Dahlmeier's ski form is below average so she knows she has to work it on the range. Eckhoff still clowned her at the finish. Why give up the inside and then to sneak back?
  25. Eckhoff could still take silver... I bet Brorsson won't be doing any interviews today...
