  1. If Ottoman Empire conquered Europe, we'd have a Muslim continent to deal with for sure. That didn't happen. If Middle East countries refuse to accept otherwise liberal European culture why should Europe tolerate the very strict Muslim culture? It doesn't make any sense.
  2. Minority rule has never worked. The colonial empires have crumbled under it's own weight, likewise communism and then we had apartheid as well.
  3. And I'm sure lipstick & bikinis wouldn't fly in places like Yemen or Saudi Arabia but nobody calls this xenophobia Ottoman Empire has tried to conquer Europe but thankfully failed in their plans.
  4. Muslims are minority in Europe. This stuff could fly in Middle East but not here. And obviously Western Europe is scared shitless of more terrorist attacks no matter how liberal they pretend to be
  5. Kristin Stoermer Steira won the 10,000 at National Champs by 1 minute 46 secs back in 2014 Her time was 33:40.75
  6. The backlash of men competing in the female events would be much greater. IOC will make sure the Olympics will go smoothly and worry about the court cases later. Olympics should be about sport and not California state laws.
  7. No way this holds up. A lot of things can still happen until 2028
  8. I do believe the rotational technique finally comes to the fore, it's been used exclusively by Americans for so long but perhaps it's the way to go after all. It's like a difference between taking three or four turns in the hammer. It wasn't such a thing until all the top athletes started to use four turns and now it's a default technique. On the other hand things have gone in the opposite direction in the long jump where the breast technique (viewed as the supreme) has been phased out over the years hence the results have gone right down. In Poland Bukowiecki was viewed as the supreme talent from the juniors and future heir to Majewski's throne but Haratyk has exceeded all the expectations.
  9. Cross-country skier Mona-Liisa Nousiainen (nee Malvalehto) has died aged 36 after a long illness (which probably means cancer).
  10. History of gun possession has gone so far in USA it's rooted in your culture. You can't change that overnight with some Congress bill anymore. I could argue NRA is the third biggest political party in USA that holds both GOP & Dems hostage because of its influence. In Poland it's notoriously difficult to obtain a gun permit and air pistols are mostly in use. You must be a lawyer, prosecutor or some hot-shot businessman to obtain a permit for a gun. Hunting rifles are common but semi-automatic guns are basically reserved for organized crime. The biggest "mass shooting" in peacetime Poland occured in 1925 when two students detonated a hand granade in Vilno which killed them, two other students & a teacher. And yeah, that was almost 100 years ago while both perpetrators were mentally unhinged veterans of the Polish-Soviet War of 1920
  11. Mass shootings is old news in USA.They happen so often nobody really cares about it IMO  Everyone knows USA is a gun country and that's the collateral damage of it.
  12. Williams is the only team without a DNF this season. The tortoise is still clogging along there!
  13. What will Ineos do next year? They've got three TdF winners on the payroll now. Guess Thomas is the one getting screwed?
  14. Both Alfas were handed a 30 secs. penalty for illegal clutch setting so Robert Kubica moves up to 10th!!! George Russell will be upset
  15. Some fact checks, it's the longest throw by an European outdoors since Ulf Timmermann's gold medal put in Seoul 1988 OG!!! (22,47) who also had 22,55 in February 1989 indoors. And that is that
  16. Michal Haratyk 22,32 NR in Warsaw today That's the longest put by an European in the 21st century Only Timmermann, Andrei, Gunthor & Beyer have ever thrown further in Europe!
  17. Rain in F1 always makes for some great races. Mercedes will 'null points' at Hockenheim while Kvyat gets Toro Rosso's first podium since 2008
  18. Shock alert: Katarzyna Kawa had made a WTA final in Jurmala
  19. Who did see Pickrem as a lock for medals here anyway? PBs & medals are not enough? Does Canada think they're as good as USA & Australia now?
  20. Greed is still good? Watch her bomb out at the Olympics next year!
  21. They're spending enough time together without the gimmick mixed relays Add the NCAA programmes and all that crap and I'm surprised there's not more beef among them. It must be tiresome to hang around the same people time and time again for well over 10 years tbh Adding team events in individual sports is useless, it's as overrated as Ryder Cup in golf.
  22. Mixed relays are useless gimmick. It's only a reason to give the power house nations more chances to win easy medals
  23. Has there ever been a shorter stage than today in TdF history? (minus the time trials ofc)
  24. Ledecky had this in the bag tbh. Titmus came from 5th to 3rd in the last fifty...
  25. Masse was lucky to even win a medal by 0,05.
