  1. Redemption for Wiankowska after she got absolutely roasted in the Sweden game as she scores the third goal. Padilla-Bidas with a bad mis-kick which ended up as assist
  2. Denmark have a goal ruled for offside. Very lucky for Poland since we're getting overrun in the second half. Still 20 mins left.
  3. Terrible pass from the youngster Szymczak but even a worse howler from Szemik in goal and Denmark pulls one back after 57 mins.
  4. Winning Group C means playing Spain only in the final but getting a much harder QF than SF. I wonder if France tries to manipulate the Dutch game to end up in the top half?
  5. Ewa Pajor heads in after 20 mins. Poland leads Denmark 2-0
  6. has scored a goal!!! Stop the press!!! Natalia Padilla-Bidas is the historic first goal scorer in Women's EURO for our WNT
  7. In Poland we call them 'pumpy' aka pumps. I think this is what Payne Stewart used to wear in golf, lol.
  8. Probably because the island belong to the Hanseatic League & then Teutonic Order which only sold it to Sweden
  9. @GrassmarketIs there some fancy UK word for 'short trousers' or can we call them knickerbockers?
  10. @hckošiceEmerson Jones must be having nightmares. She still came back to play junior GS after the double Jamrichova losses last year only to lose to another Slovakian -ova in the QF, lol.
  11. Iga Świątek wins Wimbledon 6-0 6-0 over Amanda Anisimova. So much for no WTA titles in 13 months
  12. Italy take the lead vs Spain... which lasted 3 minutes. But Belgium also scored vs Portugal to help Italy.
  13. Iga Świątek beat Belinda Bencic 6-2 6-0 in the second SF. Quite a run for Świątek who has struggled ever since losing that OG SF in Paris and grass is supposedly her worst surface.
  14. Amanda Anisimova beats #1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-4 4-6 6-4 and makes her first Grand Slam final. Quite a turnaround after she lost in qualifying last year.
  15. @ThagardSweden's wingers - especially Angeldahl - made a mockery of our fullbacks. Wiankowska lasted 70 minutes but was overrun like a schoolgirl all game. It's tricky because our female experts said before the match Angeldahl is the best Swedish player right now but usually in women's game "sentiment & reputation" prevails so the focus was on Asslani & Blackstenius. Then our best CB Dudek couldn't play due to injury while Woś and 19yo Szymczak were a bag of nerves instead. Technically Dudek & Woś were supposed to be the starting CBs in both matches and Szymczak was late in coverage on most goals we conceded. All three Sweden goals were close range headers, duh.
  16. It makes you wonder just how bad Wales is given how they got spanked by this Dutch team the other day. And yeah, I mean Sherida Spitse is your half-time rescue pick? What year is it?
  17. Sweden beat Poland 3-0 and by all accounts we played much worse than in the Germany game. Well, these results aren't a surprise, together with Wales we're the biggest outsiders who even qualified for these finals.
  18. Germany recover from a goal down to beat Denmark 2-1. Now it's time for Sweden vs Poland and once again our target is look competitive and maybe score a goal with some luck
  19. Yeah, she had some very bad meltdowns like that vs Fernandez in Indian Wells and then the Madrid flop vs Rus so she took a break but she did some painting and attended college unlike some others who basically spend time sunbathing (i.e. Andreescu). And quite clearly this is her best twelve month stretch but she took full advantage of that Toronto final run last summer which boosted her ranking by over 80 places. Her attitude was always the biggest obstacle, nobody's denied her talent and quite frankly she's probably the best ball-striker on tour alas as it's often the case in pro sports, it's mostly determined between the ears.
  20. Amanda Anisimova beats Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1 7-6(9) in the second QF and makes her second GS SF after Roland Garros 2019 (when she was only 17yo).
  21. Aryna Sabalenka squeaks by Laura Siegemund 6-4 in the third. Siegemund served for 5-3 but choked. Terrible quality from both hehe.
  22. Then again I kinda expected more from Portugal as well. They almost eliminated USA in group stage of the last World Cup (hit the post in 90th minute) yet they got completely overrun by Spain (which are probably even stronger than when they won WC) and struggled for many periods vs Italy as well.
  23. Portugal with a late equaliser vs Italy so they stay alive until the last group match.
  24. Belgium scored twice vs Spain but this means Spain didn't back off in the second half like vs Portugal. And they've scored SIX times
  25. Amanda Anisimova beats Linda Noskova in three sets in R4 and should make her Top 10 debut after Wimbledon (currently up to #8 in the live rankings).
