    Nope, junior sport in general is obscure in Poland. I'm not that familiar with all the top names in junior athletics myself even though it tends to be unpredictable almost by default.

    Women's Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova lost to Elena-Gabriela Ruse in R2 already. Still an upset if any upset is standard for WTA anyway Big chance for Paula Badosa to make a run in this section of the draw now.

    having a terrible tournament. Auger-Alliassime, Shapovalov, Andreescu and Fernandez all lost in R1 already. Emma Raducanu makes her 2021 win look even more fortunate as she goes down to out-of-form Sofia Kenin in R1 as well.

    It's been a while since we had driver in F1. Gaston Mazzacane in 2001 IIRC. Obviously Sargeant was a sitting duck and the latest practice crash at Zandvoort which ruined all the new updates they brought in was the last straw.

    After leaving Juventus Wojciech Szczęsny has decided to retire from professional football. That's quite a shocking decision given he's "only" 34 years old.

    Maria Sakkari with another R1 loss in Grand Slam. This time she retired injured after the first set. I don't remember a Top 10 player losing so many R1 matches in Grand Slam tbh.

    25 year old McCartney Kessler - a former NCAA product - who only made Top 100 two weeks ago wins her first WTA title in Cleveland over Beatriz Haddad Maia. Kessler hasn't won a WTA tour match in her entire career before this week (one win at Australian Open which is ITF event). She also won Landisville 100k which earned her a MD wild card to US Open where she plays Marta Kostyuk in R1.

    Daria Pikulik said she will take a two year break from track cycling and *maybe* decides to return after that IF the situation in our cycling federation gets better (hint: it probably won't).     It's like the old joke about sports newspapers in Denmark. 9 pages about handball and 3 pages for everything else. A former football keeper once told that story in Polish press, they won some big game and he thought it would be on the first page but it wasn't because it was all handball

    I live 10 kms from Chorzów. I speak Silesian for 30+ years but it's a mixed dialect of Polish & German tbh. It's been declared a language for political purpose only. Funnily enough some years after the Silesian Autonomous Party has completely lost meaning in the voivodeship council. It was a much hotter topic in mid 00s to mid 10s

    Must be the shortest silent ban in tennis history. Clostebol is the same thing Dorota Borowska got provisionally suspended for before the Olympics before it was revoked (so the massage cream for her dog).

    Silesia is obviously the region and the meeting is in Chorzów I presume that name Silesia is easier to pronounce so that's why they advert it like that.

    No dobra, przecież systemu nie zmienimy. Nasz sufit to będzie te 11-12 medali, a złota trafią się przy jakimś wyjątkowym talencie lub skorzystamy na niskiej konkurencji w jakieś dyscyplinie. Przecież w młocie całe lata korzystaliśmy na tym, że nawet w LA to jest dyscyplina ze stosunkowo małą wymiennością nazwisk. W poważne inwestycje w jedną medalodajną dyscyplinę nie wierzę.

    I guess not everyone uses the screen at default 100% width setting. I also use some websites at 80% or 90% width for better reading. I use TO in 100% and the sidebar isn't a major distraction for me (on my laptop, I don't use my phone for that).

    Sadly her biggest chance was in Rio where she should have went with the Dutch break but didn't react and stayed with Deignan which was a big mistake. Even 8 years ago it was clear Holland is the team to stick with in these kind of situations.

    Anastazja Kuś has been withdrawn from the Polish squad. Doing European U-18 and Olympics in space of four weeks was arguably enough according to the coaches.
