  1. Successful shooting world cup for India. 7 quotas already, maybe one unlucky quota was for manu who should have won it in 25m pistol rather than 10m.Now one among heena and yeshaswini deswal will miss tokyo. And the latter almost qualified for finals before poor 92 in final series. Heena has been the weakest of all but there is a chance she may get the nod considering the experience. If manu had won quota in 25m both the 10m shooters could have qualified at least in asian championships. In such a situation Yeshaswini could be in 10m individual while Heena in mixed 10m with Manu competing in both.

  2. India seem to be a serious contender for at least 3 golds in Tokyo 2020 with such unbelievable form. Men's rifle shooting is weakest among all especially 50m 3P.All other events we have good shooters especially the women.

What a Great effort by the brilliant but mercurial Manu Bhakker ...... Just yesterday she melted down in the 25 M final in such a heartbreaking way  ...... was second and looked sure to get a quota place , then shot 6 blanks to get knocked down to 4th and just out of a quota place ...... But today she held her own to win ........ great effort , great poise  ........    She is such an integral part of Indias olympic dream , in both 10m pistol and 25m pistol and also combining with the phenomenal Saurabh in the mixed pairs ( 2 gold this year already in world cups ) ....... so this was the result I was really hoping for

Good for Manu to win the quota, unlucky for India. Was supporting the Uruguayan and Thai girls which made sense I believe.

sunidhi came heart breakingly close to getting into the finals of the three position but a good result for her non the less

That was so close yet so far. 1175 is a very good score though even better than Anjum's 1166 in MQS. At least in the Asian championships she should get 1 of the 3 available quotas with China and Korea having won 1 quota each.

No, Formula One Management has blocked all the YouTube live-streams so far, and unfortunately the Montenegrin internet is not good outside of Budva apparently.

What is Formula One Management?how come they blocked these games?

Start list of junior weightlifting world championship in Fiji , The biggest highlight here is that China will send a very descent team based on entries in men's side and a very strong team in women's side , but ofc it's only initial entries that will change , Egypt will send a team of 6 lifters i think our biggest chances based on what i saw in last African championship will be in men's -89 and women's -71 kg

Chinese team is very strong as usual. The entry totals are way below, 70-80kgs below personal best in some categories. For example Li Wenwen lifted 322 in recent Asian championships is +87kg W. Here her entry total in 255 kg :p

  7.  German team was full of afghans, Indians and Pakistan  as expected. However the highlight of the year has been Nigeria (pure Nigerians) qualifying from division 2 and then winning all division 1 matches which includes a upset against Namibia (7th in 2016 u 19 world cup and had beaten South Africa then), qualifying for 1st ever U 19 world cup..

well for the last 5 asian wrestling events( between 2014-2018 )  we have got between 5-10 medals at the asian wrestling  event ........   in 2018 we got just 8 medals            This time we got 16 ....... the best we have ever done ...... well I cannot comment for you but for me that is a great achievement ......

Greco this is the best we have ever done by far in Asia in Greco - last year we got just 2 medals ..... this year we got 4 medals (and 3 silvers ) so again this is a good achievement ...I think the team did really well ...I would like to see Sajjan come into the squad but he is in 77 kgs so Gurjeet did very well ....... also possibly vijay from the juniors .............. are only real weakness then will be in the super heavy

freestyle was brilliant  1G, 3S and 4B..I am glad we have some really good new names .... deepak punia has come up from the juniors and vicky is also very young..... both did brilliantly for their first championship ..... also satyawrats return after 4 years is again great news ....... with Bajrang and rahul and sumit , I feel we have a strong team ....... I think sandeep tomar was the only person who may have to fight to get into this high profile team and I do not know what sushil will do ? ........but freestyle team looks good for the world champs and I feel they may do well ......... possibly with only these two  changes ...............

Women was the only area I felt a little disappointed .......last year we had 1G , 1S and  2B .....from there to get 4B was disappointing ..... to be fair vinesh and Divya were returning from injuring and ritu leaving wrestling so the team was a bit unstable but still I expected better from Navjot , Pooja  and possibly some new names in the higher wieght categories  ,,,,,, also i agree vinesh should be in 50 kgs and not 53

The world championship will decide everything though..

overall in the major events this week we seem to have done well - this is a good start to  the olympic qualification season

ISSF world cup  3-1-0 and leading the pack at least for this event

Asian wrestling championship 1-6-9 and I think we did very well especially in greco and freestyle ...... we were in the top bracket at least in the overall medal tally

Asian Boxing 2-4-7 and especially well across the board ...... This despite Vikas and Mary kom not being there ........ we lead on total medals

especially nice to see Shiva back , kavinder fought brilliantly .

    I think fine tuning

Wrestling was disappointing.. Anyhow Greco-Roman competition is very weak in Asia as compared to Denmark, Serbia, Armenia, Russia and Hungary.. Vinesh took a wrong choice to jump up to 53kgs...

Weightlifting was quite good for Chanu even though we know only 1 hope.. Just hoping Chinese don't participate in 49kg category at Olympics.. Maybe 55 64 and - 87 are sure events for Chinese women.. Should be a straight fight between 49kg lifter and 87kg+ who won by 8kgs and 17kgs gap here respectively. Yet the choice will be clear only after world championship with world record holder Tatiana Kashirina in +87, still a favorite..

Hong Kong suddenly has quite a good chance in team eventing, as FEI has interestingly decided to drop the level of Groups F/G qualifier from 4* to 3*.

However, keep in mind that they could just as easily lose this team quota if they don't fulfill minimum requirements by January (which is quite possible, actually...).

Any chance for India in team eventing after Asiad silver to qualify?

no, but I remember a North Korean shooter (Kim Hyon Ung) starting in 3 different pistol events in Athens 2004 (10m air, 50m free and 25m rapid fire)...

and I'm quite sure that he's not the only one that achieved such result...

Gagan Narang competed in 10m air rifle 50m prone and 50m 3P in 3 Olympics. In 2020 Anjum Moudgil should be in 10m rifle and 50m3P with mixed 10m rifle.

Divynash Singh Panwar wins Silver Medal in ISSF WORLD CUP at Beijing to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.  He shot 249 in finals and 629.0 in the qualification round.  Great performance by the tennager.

That was a good news from shooting.. Looks firm favorite to be in the mixed team with Anjum for 2020 along with the individual event..
