Sure, Strangest things happened, but medal for SVK in this sport is definitely quite something :d

Former U23 total European Champion Matej Kováč certainly the biggest SVK talent since Martin Tešovič, won Bronze in -105kg C&J.

the bronze medal attempt in the video

Spoiler

In overall some interesting results from our young athletes here, Matej Kováč bronze,

the junior Nikola Seničová finished 6th overall in -90 W ! (8th in snatch and 5th in C&J - competed in B group),

former doper Karol Samko finished only 1kg out of medal 4th in -85kg total (8th in snatch and 4th in C&J), Richard Tkáč in the same event was 8th in total (8th + 8th)

looks like this sport is not definitely dead after all in the country yet..

yeah, but don't forget that most of the strongest European weightlifters weren't there...

some of them  because they come from suspended Countries and some others because they just didn't consider this tournament worth their presence...

overall, the results obtained by most of the participants were very, very modest (even if they granted those athletes decent final placings at the end of the day)...

yes, I never said the opposite :d how else you would have a slovak medal in this sport ? only if the opponents are more or less beatable, and knowing where we belong in this sport, I am perfectly identified with the fact that the level here had to be extremely low :d

but still nice to see a medal :d who know, it may also help funding

And now to see when the results of the doping tests come in before we can actually see who finished in the top-10 of the medal tables.

And+now+we+wait+for+the+behind+the+gif+_

IWF reports that the sample of Mr. Oleksandr PIELIESHENKO (UKR) has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for Chlorthalidone (S.5 Diuretics and other Masking Agents).
As a consequence, the Athlete is provisionally suspended in view of a potential anti-doping rule violation

WF reports that the sample of  Ms.  Sona POGHOSYAN (ARM) has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for  GHRP-2 (AA1-3) (S.2 Peptide Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances and Mimetics).

OK - these weren't going to compete anyway....
