Tennis Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

Recommended Posts

Loads of people always pull of Tennis tounments up till the day it’s starts. Easy to see another 5-10 in both singles pulling out and 2-3 pairs in the doubles pulling out.

I can't understand why he is still thinking, other players will have a chance, now only 12 days left he is still "thinking".

Because US Open is way too attractive than Olympics. He is so near to achieve 4 Grand Slams in single year and Olympics may disrupt it.

After Wimbledon he should stop this thinking. If he want to win 4 Grand Slams he should say this nowadays. If he is going to win 4 Slams and OG he should know now.

Well it’s tennis. Tennis players are allowed make decision at last minute. It’s not just Djokovic, Federer also said he is still considering after losing the game.

Yes, they are big celebrities, but their decision has a big impact for others players. From my point of view it is fair to them.

also the "perfect year" (or "Golden Slam", if you prefer) with 4 GS tournaments and the Olympic Gold medal (only time that happened, 1988, Steffi Graf) is something I'm sure he's thinking of...

    • I am assuming the FIS will fight very hard to keep it.   From a substainability standpoint it also really doesn’t make that much sense to axe Nordic combined as long as ski jumping is in the games anyway. For the same reason that all three sliding sports are basically a package that will live and die together.

    • I can’t see it being kept. Unless some very important  people have asked for it.
    • First event at the World juniors (team events) had 6 nations win medals.
    • I hope they keep it. Even though the sport doesn't exist in Slovakia at all, it's still very exciting to watch.
    • will miss this stage because of the Middle East war, since the flights with Qatar Airways have been cancelled and can't be replaced in time (especially for the bicycles)
