:FRA Lecomte on fire! :SWE Rissveds back in top shape just before the Olympics and, if I'm not wrong, :AUT Stigger on the podium for the first time in a senior "Olympic distance" race...

quite interesting race earlier today in Leogang (AUT)...

Agreed. This is so incredibly annyoing.

Another example is when someone makes up a lot of time towards the end, and takes the lead, they keep repeating "A lot of time can be made down below!!", even though the leading splits are now completely different...

50 rider start list, we're at rider 18 or something: "HE IS NEARLY A SECOND FASTER, HOW DID HE DO THAT?? THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING!!" as if this is probably the greatest run in the history of mankind.

Uhm, how about...no, it's not? The better riders, on average, are towards the end, it's absolutely normal for riders to make up some good time on riders before them early on in the race...

Don't get me wrong, I think downhill racing is a perfect event for some extra enthousiastic commentary, it's fast and risky and can be fairly sensational. However, it's no reason to come across as if you have not a single clue about times, splits, etc :d (because there's no doubt their knowledge about the sport and riders itself is very, very good)

Yeah Andreassen did great today. Decent results by the Dutch in the end as well. Vader had a rough start, but still got into 11th.

I guess we can lock in Loana Lecomte and Mathias Fluckiger for medals already. What dominance!

Harder for Flückiger than for Lecomte though, considering the women's race is basically what we saw (minus Neff), whereas in the men's race Van der Poel will join the field, Avancini will quite likely return in better shape than earlier in the season and Pidcock is probably going to be a lot more recovered than he was yesterday...

You're right. Lecomte looks like almost a lock in for gold already (which is crazy considering it's her debut year at the elites). Meanwhile Fluckiger could realistically get bronze or miss out behind Van der Poel and Pidcock.

Finals are well underway in Snowshoe, with downhill wins for Reece Wilson and young Valentina Höll, a first for both. Yesterday Victor Koretzky and Evie Richards won the shorttrack races, Flückiger's 5th place was enough to clinch the overall World Cup, which Lecomte already has in the women's field.

Today there's the final downhill races, tomorrow the final cross-country Olympic races.

    • Lots of people do though. They may be unhappy with it, but I don't see anybody physically attacking the centre of power just yet. Four years ago, that's when we really saw people genuinely refusing to accept the result en masse. This time even the losing candidate, as they should, conceded shortly after the election. Which should obviously be normal, but last time that happened was already 8 years ago.
    • I still can't get over the shock!   Many thanks to all the juries who voted for . From the number of points, it looks like you either loved or hated the song. Nothing in between. I was quite curious to see how the scoring for a stereotypical four-chord song would develop. And it looks like the mainstream has won this time.    At the same time, I want to congratulate  @Belle for a great and exciting battle, and also  @Erigert for the first podium! I am already looking forward to seeing you on this ground next year. I must not forget the great organization of   @Cinnamon Bun! Great job! I realize that during the organization there were many obstacles that you had to deal with. My admiration for you is even greater.    As the winner of the competition, I am happy to take over the hosting from Great Britain (who took over the hosting from us the year before). I will try to create an even more impressive event than when held the competition two years ago.   ... Mikolas Josef also saying a big thank you

    • Yeah, his first season was a letdown since he was injured most of the time. But he's played in all 15 league games this season so far   http://www.90minut.pl/wystepy.php?id=42090&id_sezon=105
    • Looks like NHL players are going to be allowed in the next 2 Olympics, if you are to believe a Bulgarian website, that quotes Bettman. Not sure how serious this info is.
    • Sad to see that my top 3 didn’t win, but at least know that they have a fix place in my Spotify playlist now hehe (Hungary, France and Greece. The Dutch one I hear it every now and then in the radio and at new years anyway)   nice contest with some good music, and congrats for all the huge effort from the organiser in making this happen, it really is a fun tradition even if we’re not that many anymore
    • surprised, he is not injured this time  most of the time when I hear his name in our media, it's about his new injury
    • Being sad about a result isn't quite the same as not accepting... Haven't heard about any democrats trying to overturn the democratic election so far
    • You sure seem like a nice guy...
