Biathlon sure leads in retirements this year. I still don't understand how Hammerschmidt completely tailed off after her injury? Unless the tendon inflammation was chronic and basically a career-killer like Kournikova or Golovin in tennis before.

As per usual, it seems, especially in Olympic seasons :p

India hosted their National Biathlon Championship.

Tiril Eckhoff will return for next season.

Mari Eder might retire.  She is 34 and not sure she will continue.  She has also spent the past few summers training with the Belarus team.

:hyper:I'm from Karnataka and it doesn't snow anywhere in the state. I assume she may have been to some European OR North American country sometime in life to even know about the sport. Unless your in army and posted in J&K you wouldn't have an idea about the sport or get any chance to practice

I thought that it was odd that she even knew about biathlon.  We had a biathlete in 1988 from Guam, so stranger things could happen.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
    • Always dreamed Gretzky will draw Slovakia was another moment I can already remove from my things to do before die list
