After 125 years (!), the mother of all speed skating events is back in Amsterdam

Back in those days, it was done at the Museumplein, now it's the Olympic Stadium where they've covered the track with ice, known as 'The Coolest Track of the Netherlands'.

Draws and results (also live) can, as always, be found on ISU's official page:

Quite cool to have these championships in a big stadium.

And it's promising to be not really good weather....we might see some old-school speed skating that I haven't seen at this level in more than 10 years :d (Universiade last year in a snow storm in Medeo beat everything, but that's very, very far from this level :p )

"In 1893, Jaap Eden made history by becoming the first 'Master of the World' at the Museumplein. Now, 125 years later, all 'Masters of the World' come together at the Rijksmuseum for a historical dinner at the eve of the world allround championships."

All living world champions (mostly) :)
