Men's single qualification after the short program:

3 spots:

:JPN

2 spots:

:RUS:USA:ITA:CHN

1 spot:

:CAN:KOR:FRA:CZE:LAT:BLR:SUI:ISR:SWE:UKR:GEO:MEX:EST

Countries eligible for an extra spot:

:RUS:USA:CAN:KOR:FRA

Japan is basically a lock for three spots. The big questions are whether Italy and China can keep two spots. If one fail to keep two spots Germany will qualify, if both fail to keep two spots Azerbaijan will qualify.

Assuming my reading of the qualification rules are correct (they are vague enough that there are competing opinions...) Mexico is guaranteed a spot as long as Carrillo completes the free skate.

Yes! Donovan in the free skate AND most likely gets the automatic Olympic Quota, rules practically indicate that!

I’ve just view his score sheet

Like we hoped he skate real clean and landed every jump.

@NearPup I don’t understand how Russia is eligible for three quotas right now. Don’t their placements currently add up to 14?

Two Russians competing for Belarus is not as innocent as it appears.

Should they qualify for the Olympics, there is a chance that Belarus will get a place on the judging panel, and we all know what that means...
