To be fair he is leading the prediction contest of this...

1) How many contestants does this contest have?

2) Is there anyone besides him who cares about (follows) non-olympic events like reining?

3) I don't doubt that he knows much about this sport (although the provisional standing in a single predictions contest with very few participants doesn't prove anything), but my point is that his predictions concerning Germany at the 2020 olympic were ridiculous and therefore i offered him a bet. The fact that he isn't willing to take any of them (although the odds would be sensational for him, if his assessment of the current state of german eventing would be correct) pretty much proves that he was just bullshitting and everyone who doesn't believe it just has to look up when Germany last didn't win a single medal at a major event or finished outside the top 5.

By the way: In 2010 Germany finished 5th in the team and Jung won individual gold (the same result Germany would have had this year if it wouldn't have been for Klimke's silly mistake, without the best german rider even competing), 2 years later Germany won 2 gold medals at the olympics.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

How it is counted for the ranking? Like negative points? I mean, if you finish 1st you get 1 point, if second 2 points and so on?

Today's winner gets 0.00 points, while everyone else gets penalties that equal their deficit divided by two. So if you were 0.50 seconds slower than winner, you continue on 0.25 pens the next day.

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
