One of the parade highlights ( for me) is to hear how the stadium react to each nation's entry. This time, we heard nothing, not even for the home nation.

I definitely heared cheering for the home nation, but not the rest. Which suggests it wasn't an audio mistake, but the rest was barely cheered for indeed.

Apparently, they are a shit load of people who believe the stadium is empty.

Well, they used the same light system in London 2012 without making stadium look empty.

Welp, they are also aficionados of poisoning certain individuals, so you never know.

i expect sth but not in Korea, Games can be a cover for sth but i`m quite sure they won`t make anything to hurt the games without RUS+CHN acceptance

Follows the trend from curling. Very one sided crowd. We certainly won't hear: "Oleee, oleee, Niger!" in Korea. ;)

From what i`ve heard Koreans are a bit "specific" emotionally, maybe this is the reason. They have their own rules like in airlines where controller was more important than a pilot (Americans had to change it after making an audit). Maybe they don`t show emotions the way we are used to

    • Here, the Masters is on national TV.  Are major golf tourneys in the USA shown in other places?   (I work at a private school that's just about an 80-minute drive from Augusta.  Many of my students are able to go watch the tournament in person.  I've never paid attention to golf until this year...it's a beautiful course!)

    • so, one of the most boring world cup stages ever has ended    if it wasn't for  and , winning 1 gold medal each, a  sweep would have come true, as they won all the remaining 8 gold medals (and a bunch of silver and bronze, too)    while some sports are brcoming more and more global, it looks that (rifle and pistol) shooting is going the other way round, it's becoming less and less global, with just 1 or 2 dominating Countries and a few others filling the (minor) gaps here and there, with always less Nations capable to win medals (only 12, out of 10 competitions) and even make the final    now the Rifle and Pistol world cup takes a break to allow most Continental championships to take place between the end of April and May.   It will be back in  Munich in the last week of May.   In the meantime, the Shotgun specialists will be on stage from May 2nd through May, 11th in  Almaty.
