Most of these awards are popularity contests anyway. One can argue Hassan winning over SLL is equally nonsensical

True about Hassan and SLL.  But this is also why I think this kind of popularity voting is BS. People simply don’t vote for the most deserving athlete.

Armand Duplantis wins one of Sweden’s absolute finest sport awards, Bragdguldet 2024. Finally this awesome athlete gets some credit and respect.
