I always liked the totallympics awards, sadly there werent any for 2017 ...

Now that you mention it, I had completely forgotten about that :yikes:

Yeah you're right, it often came up with some surprising results (or at least surprising nominees)...that is a shame indeed.

I would like to organize one, but its probably too late for 2017, so maybe at the end of this year.

Something like: Best female/male individual athlete, best team, best moment, biggest surprise, rising star male/female, best comeback, best event (best host/best organized event) and something like honorary awards for retired athletes.

Maybe we could also do something in reverse: "Who is gonna be the rising star in 2018" or "Who is gonna be the best female athlete in 2018"

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

I'd definitely be in (with both at the end of the year and the reverse one, that sounds kind of interesting). Now, hands up for anyone else?

    • Hope so (for my adopted country, Norway, that is). Torino 2006 was the first Winter Olympics I followed closely and it was nothing short of a disaster for Norway. Strangely enough, that was actually the reason I became an avid fan of Norwegian winter sports and have been ever since. As for my actual home country, Greece, a medal for Ginnis in slalom (alpine skiing) would be a miracle.
