Bird brains from Harvard 😂😂😂. I am starting to believe that Trump is just a puppy. Vance with some guys from shadow may really want to build kind of Gilead like their guru suggested. It looks insane 100%

I fell in love with sports.....since i first seen it

:CAN is having its general election today.

In a big turnaround, the Liberals lead by Mark Carney are now ahead in the polls, after having been over 20 points behind as recently as December. This is mostly credited to the resignation of Justin Trudeau and America's on and off trade war, along with comments Donald Trump made about Canada becoming the 51st state.

While the Liberals are favoured to win a fourth consecutive election, there is a lot of uncertainty around whether it will be a majority or a minority government. There is also an outside chance of the Conservatives, lead by Piere Poilievre, will form a minority government.

Honestly, no matter the result, that was a crazy turn around. The Liberals were looking at a repeat of 2011. Truly the "natural governing" party.

One thing the Conservatives should take as a learning experience is make sure you tie the wrongdoings to the party instead of the individual. The Conservatives did a good job at getting the public to turn on Trudeau, but once he was gone we were still fine with the Liberals and didn't particularly like the Conservative leader.

Yup. Biggest question is whether the Liberals can be propped up by the NDP alone, or whether or not they will depend on the Bloc Quebecois.,

Assuming the Liberals can depend entirely on the NDP this could be a fairly long lived minority parliament. Will be interesting!

Either way, it looks like the polls were pretty okay but that the seat projection models were way off.

Probably Trump's biggest success since the start of his second term :)

It's really hard to overstate how done the Liberals were as late as early January. Mark Carney's win, even though it is a minority government, is one of the all time great political turnabout.

With seemingly only mail-in ballots left to count the Liberals are elected or leading in 168 ridings, four short of a majority. This is going to be a very unpredictable period in Canadian politics, I could easily see this government last less than a year just as easily as I could see it surviving three to four years.

Balance of power wise we are in the exact same position as before the election (the Liberals can pass legislation and secure confidence and supply with support of any of the Conservatives, the Bloc or the NDP), despite a ton of seats changing hands and this being a big realignment election.

Final result of the Canadian election (pending any recount):

Liberals: 169 seats

Conservatives: 144 seats

Bloc Québecois: 22 seats

New Democrats: 7 seats

Greens: 1 seat

A majority is 172 seats.

The Bloc Québecois has pledged to offer their support to the Liberal government for at least a year baring "something egregious".
