Yikes, another controversy in Hungary after the shooting incidents. The women's foil team is revolting against that the people in charge choose Aida Mohamed as the 4th team member instead of Dóra Lupkovics, because Lupkovics was part of the team that qualified, not Mohamed. The issue here is that Mohamed is still the second best Hungarian in women's foil on the world ranking, she's 29th, while Lupkovics is 76th.

Mighty Romanian team, made up of two athletes:

women's epee - Ana Maria Popescu

men's sabre - Iulian Teodosiu

I think it's the first time in our Olympic fencing history when we don't manage to qualify a team :(

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

We have been there in 2012, we had 4 fencers, no teams. It was a such a low point for us, which is why it was a big deal when Áron Szilágyi won men's sabre, Hungarian fencing really needed it as a sign that we aren't dead yet in the sport. Hopefully Popescu or Teodosiu can do something similar for you.

I cant found whole draw anywhere, but according our media in team event in womens epee our girls will fight with Estonia in QF.

the draw of the individual events will be held the day before the actual competition for each weapon...

the team events are based on the current world ranking, so you can compile your own draw by looking at that (following the usual scheme, preliminary round: 8th vs 9th ranked among the qualified teams, the quarterfinals: 1st vs winner of prelim. rd., 2nd vs 7th and so on; semis: top half with 1st, 4th, 5th and 8th/9th, bottom half with 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th ranked teams)...

Are you sure ? I have read this somewhere

We would also like to inform you that, after consultation with the FIE Rules Commission, and in the
event of positive Covid cases, we have requested that the draws for the individual events and the
establishing of the tables for the team events should not be carried out on 22nd July (during the
meeting with the delegations), but should be carried out the day before each individual and team
event, at 5.00 pm, in the presence of the delegations.
As an exception, on July 23, 2021 (day of the Opening Ceremony), the draw will take place at 1:00
p.m.

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA
