Well I'm also not a fan of it :p

I just mean I can (to some agree) understand it. Who knows for example what his personal situation is, maybe Turkey's money can get him from barely getting by to having no financial worries anymore, something like that. I'd find it hard to say no then when I already am not competing for my home country anymore anyway :d

:yes

I heard about that few months ago.

Speachless,to be honest. Turkey always had good judokas, why they took decent but nothing more judoka, cant imagine. I doubt he can be medal prospect in the future.

Also, even though it happened before,i am amazed that athletes are leaving Slovenia too.

He’s actually probably not naturalized, a *lot* of Brits also hold Irish citizenship, or are at least eligible to claim it. Applies doubly for Brits with an Irish surname.

Ireland has incredibly generous citizenship by ancestry rules.

    • changes that go absolutely against the Italians (notoriously the top swimmers and not the best shooters in MP) 😭😭😭   now it's really time to axe MP from the Games 😈🥳
    • I think there was a feeling before the obstacle course was introduced that really, really solid endurance runners were starting to dominate - in Triathlon you might call it the Alex Yee conundrum. Personally, I don't mind at all if the 'martial' elements are reemphasised as that is the real 'soul' of the sport - Triathlon, Marathon and Road cycing are there for genuine endurace, MP is in some senses a 'soldiery' test - one reason I thought Judo might have been a better addition than the obstacle course. But placing a higher emphasis on the fight bits over the flight bits seems a legitimate idea - though it should also increase the X-country nature of the run so that the test of a fresh shooter at the beginning is rather different from the test of a knackered one at the end. I quite like the artificial hill in rio.
